I love watching your videos - a kindred spirit. You have so many ideas and I totally get you - sometimes I felt like listening to you was like listening to myself! Rings are visually so minimal and organized but using them is so awkward - it just doesn’t make sense why to me so I still keep my A5 rings but repurposed them for address/password/and import notes/medical “reference book” on my bookshelf. It’s funny how all the beautiful things coming out grabbed my attention even though I know well enough that rings isn’t my planner spirit animal.

That’s the sweetest comment ever, Kat! Thank you so much for sharing how you feel! It’s definitely so easy to get swept up in the beauty and novelty each launch, but I think the more and more I try, the more I learn about what I like and what I don’t and that’s been making it easier to look away. I don’t regret any of my experiments, even the ones like these A5 rings where I kinda knew going in that it would likely not work for me. 😊

@@CreatingSelfCarePlans well...thanks for asking. I'm a long time daily duo fan, but this year I have been enjoying the hobonichi cousin. Next year I am trying the plum paper daily. I also use an EC softbound hourly. I just find it very relaxing. Thanks for you video.

I bought the punched inserts for an A5 agenda cover I already had, and I gave up on them after about a week. My issue is I love the idea of ring planners, namely being able to move things around and build my own system, but I hate actually using a ring planner. It takes up too much desk real estate and the rings get in the way of my writing. I keep trying to like rings, I just don't like rings. I switched to the daily duo (work) and compact vertical (home) in A5 coiled format and I love them.

Yeah, that was the conclusion I came to with rings. I’m tempted to try their compact vertical again, but in the new 7x9 size. But I’m not sure. Now that their daily duo has a built in weekly overview, that could be enough for me.

Lol all the makse sneaks are giving me anxiety! Haha. But they said they're redoing the dailies and dropping them in q2... so I may hold out... It's a struggle.

I cannot just claim Millennial. I didn’t have smartphones in high school. Social media started when I was in college so I feel like I have a way different perspective of life than my younger millennial counterparts. 🤣

@@CreatingSelfCarePlans I was born in 79 so I am a gen x I think. I had a personal computer and email in the 90s and a pager thru high school but a cell phone senior year. I feel like our Gen is the weirdos of the bunch because we were figuring out all the things like fire drills. Lol At least your Gen had some time to process. I wasn't allowed in fb when I was in uni because I went to art school... but the rest of my friends went to state so they were well intwined with social media from the start. 😆

Ah, yeah, a young Gen X. I can absolutely see how you probably felt like a guinea pig as tech changed. 😂 My parents didn’t give me a cell until I was driving to school my senior year but I remember not even using text messages because of the charges for them. It wasn’t included on our phone plan. I didn’t have a traditional college experience (community college) so I think that helped me not feel overwhelmed with social media’s early days because I wasn’t around a bunch of classmates my age who could show me what they were seeing online. I can’t imagine being in high school today with smartphone phones & social media & cameras & videos. Or even in college with all that stuff. Such a distraction. I did enjoy using instant messaging online with my high school friends when I was probably 9th grade & up. But that was when we had dial-up and if the internet was connected, the house phone wouldn’t work. And I also really liked just talking on the phone - something my sons generation doesn’t seem to know how to do well. 🤣

@CreatingSelfCarePlans so true. I have to say that i miss chatting on the phone at times... everyone opts for texting today. Also Kids nowadays think that phones only come with cameras and speakerphone. Lord help us. No one wants to hear your convos about farts and minecraft but you...🫠 turn that speaker off! 😆 🤣 I think a young GenX is probably a kinder term haha.
