Working from home really makes you realize what's lacking in your space, which is why we've been doing virtual room makeovers for our subscribers! This week our conquerers are Kristen and Katie who are having problems with room layouts. Kristen lives in a railroad apartment in Brooklyn and needs her skinny living room to both function better and reflect her vibrant mid century modern boho style more. Katie's attic is now her home office, but she needs help finding storage and making this awkward TV room/office feel much cozier.

We're so happy we were able to help out our subscribers with some virtual advice! However, makeovers take time and energy to complete, and with the added hardship of COVID-19, we're letting our subscribers complete the room makeovers on a timeline that works for them. This means the room makeovers haven't all been completed yet. With that in mind, we have decided to reveal the makeovers one by one on Instagram as individuals finish their makeovers safely and on their own time. Ali's balcony from last episode is close to completion and we're excited to share it with you next week on IGTV! I think people are forgetting that TSG team are NOT SOLELY KZfaqRS. They run a full business with different elements, they have an impressive blog with extensive features, a whole ass podcast, I can keep going. The fact that people are so upset by clicking a few more buttons is literally so selfish, we’re all quarantined so I don’t see any problem with the way they’re going about things...

It would be nice to also have a reveal on youtube as well. Maybe have it premiere on instagram and post a follow up video on youtube? I just feel like I rarely check insta stories and would definitely miss it

kylee I totally agree! I’ll watch something on my phone that doesn’t require attention to detail for basic social media, but I don’t have IG on my tablet and don’t plan on adding it. Watching something like this on tiny phone IGtv is not gonna work for me. ☹️

I replied to a comment earlier and though I also personally dislike IGTV, you can also watch it on your computer! Just go to instagram.com/thesorrygirls and click on the IGTV tab :)

I think they do it this way because the final result depends on the owner not TSG so I think it takes a while for the rooms to be done, so they can’t wait that long to update the video here. I follow them on Instagram and none of the rooms from the other video were revealed yet ether.

Please tell me that you guys are going to do a follow-up video on KZfaq of the spaces being done instead of making us go all the way over to Instagram I just I like it better when you guys do that mean it's great to show pictures of how it turned out on Instagram but when mostly Watching You on KZfaq and I just think it would be better to show a full video of maybe even what they did and how they found stuff and maybe if they had you swap something out her maybe even not on this one but in future ones

Ive been thinking about it. I'd even be willing to check out their website if they wanted to host videos outside of youtube. But not a fan of instagram. You have to get an account to browse, its related to fb. I wish i knew their logic behind this.

Yeah, IG is a pain in the ass. Their log-in is annoying, the way they limit you if you're not logged in is annoying, just really annoying overall.

I would also prefer to watch the videos on KZfaq... I have Instagram but my feed gets muddled by friends who don’t know how to post properly... and half the time it doesn’t even show me people’s posts anyways. Not to mention I like to watch KZfaq videos on my tv!

I could never give up KZfaq but as I have been able to live without Instagram I don't really want that mental clutter. Totally their choice of course. just giving some feedback.

I don't go to Instagram for this kind of content; the longest videos I ever watch there are those minute-long sped-up makeup things, and that's only when I stumble on them in my feed. I come to KZfaq for longer form video content, and mixing the two up is just unnecessarily complicated for viewers.

I agree, Crazy Geek Crafter. I don't do IG because you have to create an account. If you could just go on and check stuff out, that would be okay...like coming onto youtube. But I don't need another social media account. :(

Hi, I have to agree with a number of the other comment about the result being on Instagram. I do not have an IG account and have no plans to get one. So while I would love to see how this turns out I will not being creating an account just for one thing. SORRY sorry girls this is a miss from me.

Hey! You don't have to open an account to see their posts! Just look up "thesorrygirls instagram" on google, and their account will pop up, and all their posts are available to you.

I agree with you @Carolynn Alvarez. People literally can't leave their houses to shop. Ordering online is no longer a quick fix. The Sorry Girls, who I found being trapped in my own house, are a doing a great job with limited avenues available to them. As I've binge watched episodes, it's an upbeat and informative way to spend my time.

To be real, YT is not always a great platform for content producers, and the algorithm or copyright claims has doomed YTbers in the past. It's *very good* for TSG to build up a following on other platforms to keep themselves and their amazing team safe and secure with their jobs from sudden YT changes! Buuuuuut there's a better way to do it :(

I'm in agreement with others--I'm super bummed about having the reveals on Instagram. Not only does it ignore the fact that a lot of people don't have it, half the fun of these videos are the reveals. The payoff, I guess. If you put that part on another platform, it takes out a lot of the motivation for watching this particular series. Hope you guys reconsider!

i think the biggest issue w the reveal being on IG is that if I see the reveal on IG first, (which normally i probably would) im honestly not gonna bother watching the video tbh. also a lot of ppl just dont have ig

Yesss! Most mid century living rooms have these deep rich and darker jewel tones (for example forest green accent walls) and I like light tones much better, so this video is sooo appreciated ♥️

I don't have social media just yt, so I won't be able to see the reveals which I love it's very satisfying. I'm reading comments and many are on the same page as me😔 I think your revenue for this channel is bigger if you made an episode here for reveals. If it is to enlarge your ig's maybe do interactive polls and mini hints in lives about the reveal not the whole thing 😶

pretty disappointed by the igtv move. i know that i am one of many who don't have instagram and it is such a bummer to your loyal youtube audience that watches/supports every video here. i love this series, but i am sad that i wont get to see the final results. I guess I'll just have to skip these videos from now on. I'm a huge fan of you guys, but I really hope you reconsider.

Yes! Colors! ❤🧡 I love it when people put bright colors on their homes and not just bland white walls like most people do (including mine because I'm renting and we're not allowed to touch the walls 🙃).

It's so strange that these are called "railroad" houses. In Cincinnati we call them "shotgun" houses, cause you can fire a shotgun from the front door straight to the back!

I think it's called shotgun in New Orleans too. They call in RR in NY because you walk thru train cars like this.

i have no issue waiting weeks, even months, for room reveals, if it means that i get to watch them all in one video on youtube. i hope y'all plan on uploading the completed designs on here once everyone has finished theirs, i know i'm not the only one with this desire lol

You do know that when there are background noises, they may sound loud to you, but we (ok I) don't hear them at all. The only way I'm even aware of them is cause of your reaction :). Loved the stylings today. Too bad about the instagram thingy...not a fan of that unfortunately, but you gals need to do what you need to do!! Stay safe and healthy :)

I love the designs you guys come up with. I love seeing you guys take on size and architecture challenges. I would love to see you two take on a different style. You guys are the Queens of mid century and boho no doubt, but could you imagine taking on a Gothic space?

Hey Becky, if you want to tint a wall or an object in photoshop, dont put the opacity down. Instead, put the color layer on "Multiply", so it adapts to the layer beneath. Looks much more realistic!

I really enjoy the makeovers you do because they have a huge visual impact but aren't all just about spending heaps of money. It just goes to show some imagination can completely change a space. Seems more doable as your average person

Amazing desings! Always love to see a TSG space makeover video! Some suggestions, there could be one light for the reading area in Kristen's space. For Katie's space I was expecting some pet DIY like a dog bed to keep him off of the couch and there could be some more storage at the stairs wall. But overall both designs are amazing and can't wait for the results. Lots of love! :)

Obviously we can't see the result yet, because there is this CRISIS going on and things take way longer ... and also, it would be just weird to push "normal" people to get the makeover done faster considering that they work and have restricted access to the shops! Love the videos and looking forward to the reveals though your vision boards are already super exiting to see!!

they wouldn't have to do any of what you said - just give the girls the time they need and post the video as a whole once the project is finished. The reason the Sorry Girls do it this way is because they want their followers and views on IG to go up.... There are other ways to do that though.
