This is my ALL TIME FAVOURITE KZfaq video! I've been watching it for years, it's such an inspiration and lovely to watch the old school KZfaq videos that are clearly a labour of love and not just to capture views.

Now this is my kind of garden video! I just loved this so much: a small yard, but look at the transformation. I simply cannot identify, really, with a huge property and seemingly limitless budget. My property measures 150 ft. x 50 ft., plenty big enough to keep me terribly busy. At first I balked at the straight lines/edges, since I love curves, but this was so enchanting.

This is still the best video on a cottage garden. The yard looks twice as large in the end and it reminds me of the movie I just saw The Beautiful Fantastic.

Thanks for your kind words. This has been a difficult garden year in our part of the world, very wet in early summer, heat and drought in late summer, ending the season with flooding rains, but the garden is still intact and some years that is all you can hope for. Oddly enough it seemed to be a great year for all our pear trees.

Beautiful garden! Thank you for sharing it with us on KZfaq. I bought a 1930 house last year and am just starting my cottage garden this spring...IF...we ever get a spring! My gardens will have to be shade gardens as I have 3 large old trees covering the entire yard and house. I won't even consider removing the trees so the best option is to have shade gardens.

Wow!! You have achieved wonderful things in just 10 years. I just love how your cottage garden turned out. I used to live in England, & had a pretty cottage garden with a cottage attached. I'm living back in New Zealand now, & five years ago, bought a 1910 large colonial cottage. which I love. But there was no garden at all, & only two trees .... one of which sadly came down in a storm, but has started growing again. We've put in gardens along fencelines, & some arches & trellis fences, climbing roses & other flowering shrubs, but we both still work. We are looking forward to retiring in a few weeks, & then when spring comes, we will get truly stuck into a large back garden area. Your garden has inspired me, so thanks for sharing it with all of us.

That's pretty much what my back yard looks like! (The first picture.. lol.) Wow, now I'm excited to keep working on it. (All I did the first year was pull weeds and prepare the truly insanely messed up flower beds along the house..) Off grid, grid of what? Electricity? TV? I don't get it.
@TexasHomesteaders2 жыл бұрын
@@seanleith5312 Off grid doesn't mean you are living the life of Jeremiah Johnson, although it can mean that. lol. It typically means you are not connected to the electric grid, hence "off grid". Solar power is widely used. Some may have internet and some may use wifi in town when they want to connect to the outside world.
