Planting Amorphophallus Konjac corms

This plant is a really interesting one! I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows this year. Last year i started with 1 fairly small corm and now i have 4 nice sized ones :) We are off to a great start :)

The internet tells me they are also known as Devil's Tongue or Voodoo Lily. Cool names too! Thanks for your videos. A friend gave me an Amophophallus konjac as a gift and I was at a complete loss as to how I should care for it, but after watching your string of updates I feel better prepared. :)

They do have interesting names don't they :) You will love your plant i'm sure.. I guess you can eat the tuber as well. sort of interesting because the Konjac sends off Many babies. Good Luck with your Amorphophallus :)

I just planted mine, they had the little pink nub. It has been two weeks now and absolutely no sings of growth... Should I water them lightly?

Interesting! You can make konnyaku once you have too many. lol

Yea, its called a yam or a konjac potato but unlike a potato konjac has no starch. in Japan Konnyaku is made into all sorts of jelly candies, deserts and imitation foods such as meats and shirataki noodles. It's all fiber so it has no real nutritional value and is popular for weight loss. Konnyaku is considered a probiotic because you cant actually digest it. In english usually the shirataki noodles are called miracle noodles.

@@PlantzNThings I avoid grains so i substitute pasta dishes with konjac noodles.
