I get such a sense of nostalgia when you show dahlias, foxgloves, sweet peas etc. Takes me right back to the cottage gardens of my childhood. You have provided so much information for my small garden, I really appreciate all your hard work (which you make look easy by the way). I am approaching 70 and gardening fills me with such joy and keeps me young....lol. Thank you for giving back in such a beautiful way!

My mother, who just recently passed away, used to grow dahlias and cut flowers in her vegetable garden, just to one side. She also used to do companion planting. I’m learning so much from Garden Answer and remembering some of the things my mom used to do in her garden as well ❤️ Thanks for all you do.

My one and only time I purchased dahlias was from a big box grocery store. They were in a plastic breathable bag. I placed the bag of dahlias on the ground as I dug my hole, got distracted and came back to blackened dahlias, scorched by the sun (we are in Zone 9). I planted them anyway. First year, we saw stems and leaves. I left them in the ground over the winter. This is the second year, and we were blessed with two beautiful white blooms. WHAT!?! These dahlias are survivors and a reminder to never give up!

I have been a gardener since a very young age and every year I learn more! I just love watching everything grow and love setting up my table by the road with what I grow. For the past few years I have been filling old mason jars with flower cuttings from my garden and they look so beautiful and I have them for free to those who want to bring a little happiness home. The most fun is watching people stop, looking them over and taking one with a smile on their face. It makes me happy to see them happy. I grow a small amount of dahlias and would love to learn more about them. Discovering Dahlias would be a helpful addition, plus I love flower photos.

I'm starting my 3rd year gardening and while I have no qualms planting any veggie, flowers are intimidating to me. Last year I decided to try growing coneflowers and milkweed from seed after watching your videos on creating your cut garden. Ohhhhh myyyyyyy!! The detail work on that cookie is gorgeous! I'd have a hard time eating it because it is so pretty, but my husband wouldn't hesitate. He'd be chomping away. And, that book!!! I a new Gardner, I discovered the joy of gardening about 3 or 4 years exactly when I started watching your YT Chanel. Dahlias are gorgeous and I am investing more time and money planting them, although the deer ate some of my favorite one last year. A book about Dahlias would certainly help me care for them better. At 15 I got a job as a gardeners assistant on a private estate and due to my crazy plant nerd knowledge was promoted to head gardener. (the giant drinking problem of the head gardener probably helped) I had an eye opening summer in those spectacular gardens and returned to high school in the fall. When Mrs. B called to tell me she wished for the Dahlias to be lifted the following tuesday, I tried to explain I had to go to school during the week. She promptly told me my services would no longer be needed. I cried. They are still my favorite flower.

Garden Answer, Floret and Flower Hill farm have all been so inspiring to me. I grew up in greenhouse! My parents and grandparents had a commercial growing business. Years later I moved to an area that was highly populated with poisonous snakes. I had basically giving up gardening altogether. Last year we move near(6b) Buffalo NY. A new house with 3 acres of unkept gardens to explore. Needless to say I have rediscovered my love for gardening. Thank you and Aaron for all you do.

Erin has been so inspirational to so many of us! I never really tried to grow dahlias until I read her first book, "Cut Flower Garden". This let to my taking her cut down course and staying a tiny flower farm last year. I actually succeeded with saving my own tubers this winter and I've already taken my very first cuttings! I'm looking forward to reading Erin's new book! Every one of her books is a feast for the eyes and soul. I'm so glad I found your channel! I love watching you and learning even more.

We’ve been moving from house to house for my husbands work, so I’ve had to start 4 new gardens in the past 5 years! Not easy, as you know it takes trial and error through multiple growing seasons for success. Your channel has helped me grow and learn as a gardener, and to not give up on my garden dreams. Portland Oregon, here. For the first time in 25 yrs I can finally grow dahlias! We bought a house last year. In the meantime, over spending on landscaping and seeds. 😊 Can't wait for Spring! 🌼

Good morning from zone 9b Southern California. I wake up everyday a couple hours before work, try to watch your new video before leaving. Although usually I don’t get time from getting ready to lunch prep. I do get to work 15 to 20 min before work sit in my car and for sure watch garden answer. Thank you for my daily Darden inspiration.

I love Dahlias! To pinch or not to pinch. I need that book. I remember you didn’t pinch yours last year and still got lots of blooms. All I know about gardening I’ve learned from you. Flower people are so generous. ❤️
