Houseplants' Latin (botanical) names can be a mouthful. We brought in one of our experts -- a linguist and former Latin teacher -- to help some of our non-Horticulturist friends walk make sense of these names.

Epipremnum pinnatum Baltic Blue (commonly called Pothos...in the way that any plant in the Genus Epipremnum may be referred to as Pothos. We know there are a lot of folks who only consider Pothos plants to be varieties of the species Epipremnum aureum, but that's a topic for another video!)
Geogenanthus ciliatus (see why we've nicknamed it Geo?)
Nephrolepis cordifolia (commonly called Lemon Button Fern)
Rhaphidophora tetrasperma (also called Mini Monstera, despite the fact that it's not botanically a type of Monstera)
