Sigh. This story was wonderful. The simple fact that those 2 americans didn't recognize her probably made that day very enjoyable for her. She was a good person.

Yes she was a good person, all her life she has been . Despite some stupid and ridiculous stories about her . There are always going to be people who do not like others for one reason or another. But the Queen has many people in this world who know and realise how well she has done all her life in leading many nations. Even at 96 two days before her own death still working. Bless her on her journey 🇬🇧🌹🙏

@@manmxhit1694 When did the Queen treat people like animals in the great famine of bengal? The great famine took place in 1770. If refering to the famine in 1943 she wasn't Queen yet but just a teenager, where did she personally "treat people like animals"?

@@johannst.bernard4333 Why is it sad? Because they didn't recognize her or because she preferred being unrecognizable? Remember, she grew up to age 10 perceiving her father and mother to be very appreciative that they were not in the limelight as they both detested it. Then her uncle King Edward abdicated, forcing her father to become King George VI and her mother Queen Elizabeth, Queen regnant, later Queen Mother. HM herself was not as averse to the limelight as her parents were, but didn't seek it out either.

This story relates how mischievous HM was and how gracious she was . Had she told them they would have been embarrassed. She saved them from that. She had a photo taken with them as well so later they don’t regret they didn’t include her. A gift given to them by HM of the value they would later recognise. I pray she rests in peace. I'm Brazilian, and in the 19th century we had an emperor called Pedro II. He once travelled to America to enjoy its 100 years of independence, and one of his greatest moments in life was walking among people and be treated like an ordinary man, because no one knew who he was. Except for politicians, he always identified himself just as "Pedro de Alcantara".

How was there not more armed security detail with her on such a walk that two strangers could approach her like that? Was it only this one gentleman, presumably armed as the Queen's Policeman? But he said he was caught off guard by that American who put his hands on his shoulders to suddenly take a picture? That would be unthinkable with most Royalty in other parts of the world. If they didn't meet these strangers, I wouldn't have wondered.
