I think the irony around his death too, was that he was turning a blind eye to the horrors and actions his platoon was doing, so he pays for it.

I can't stand the genre and continued reminders but Platoon is one of if not my favorite military/war films and there are many I like very few... My Dad (RIP) and my Uncles said this was very realistic of Vietnam and haunting as well... Everyone knew their assignment and completed the mission to create an absolute masterpiece. Great editing work!

Forgot the guy that Capt Harris tried to get out by spotting the rounds over the radio. “If you can’t talk son just key your handset twice, over!" I guess that’s not an actual CONFIRMED kill but it was certainly heavily implied.

Number #76 guy who's shot whilst drinking a can when the base is overun, was a ex vietnam Vet, he's one of three vets in the actual film... him ,Dale dye (aka cpt Harris ) & Oliver Stone ( major or colonel - command post bunker).

The body is that of Flash, who is one of the Heads (I don't think you ever hear him speak, he's just in the background when they are getting high in the bunker). It's Sgt Warren, who is wounded, who is screaming. Flash, Fu Sheng, Morehouse and Tubbs die during the church ambush scene.

Great way to take the heart and soul out of a director's art. Such an excellent film reduced to clips of kills - staggeringly STUPID! This is not a video game. This is a filmmaker's work and tribute to the young men he lived through a terrible ordeal with.
