I love this in game but after like one volley it starts brakeing I’ve had the unit just sit there and not shoot any thing because it’s glitched out normally a move order fixes it

Better than rank fire imo, yeah it's glitchy and causes friendly fire if bunched up but the fact that you keep a constant stream of bullets as opposed to 3 waves followed by a big downtime allows the squad to stay reactive and switch target if the original target runs away. Besides I'm sure anyone who's played empire knows how frustrating it is to have a unit enter the range of your line infantry, have the first rank fire and then having the enemy unit exit and the squad being forced to wait for the first rank to reload instead of kneeling and having the second rank fire.

I've been messing up with the pack file manager and managed to remove all the firing drills for infantry well at least to not make them apply to infantry once you researched them, and turned the "can skirmish" on lol now they are firing simultaneously, not quite as the massed fire but it's a continous volley as long as they can reload without dying so fast.

It is a incredibly game, still gives me joy to watch, a little tweaks, bug fixing, maybe some expansions and it would have been the jewel of the crown, it is a pity it didn't live to that potential.

This game could be so much more if the bugs were worked out

The smokey particle effects and shading on the vegetation leave a lot to be desired.

for me i gave every group of nations a different firing form.ex. Prussia fire at will and mass fire.... Uk fire by rank and like this.i am using imperial splendours mod.with other mods (İ modified the mod using the pack file manager ) and everything looks nearly perfect. Now İam waiting for empire 2 So they can fix the glitches,AI, campaign problems,more politics, cities distribution and finally multiplayer campaign.

I dont think constant fire is helpful enough to make it worth it. Rank firing unit will immediately unload 100% of their bullets being able to deal damage while the platoon firing one fires 20-30%. Maybe it can be better in rough terrain and at longer range since that alpha strike isnt as useful but at close ranges rank fire may simply anihilate the platoon firing unit before it can shoot with even half of its troops.
