If you want Hard Rock then Band Maid BUT if you want Metal it is Lovebites. The best power metal band playing today period!!! They are flawless at speeds that are insane and their songs have a positive uplifting message unlike a lot of metal lyrics. They took Iron Maiden mixed it with Judas Priest and some Dragon Force and then took it to a whole new level. After listening and seeing many of the great bands from the 60's on, these ladies just have an insane amount of talent and their shows are like the old AC/DC shows high energy that doesn't stop!!!!

Mike, as 'taken' as you are with this power-metal song, you might find a majority of their songs 'playlist worthy'. They are all women. I find them an uplifting influence, appreciated in my 70th year. As a musician, I have immense appreciation for the level of creativity, skill and taste in LOVEBITES' music and lyrics. Although their demeanor and appearance is unique in Heavy Metal, they seem to orchestrate a parade of original-yet-familiar riffs and themes within their unique epic anthems of 'positive' encouragement, flawlessly performed. uh oh ! now you've gone and done it ! LOVEBITES !! only the most talented epic beautiful band on the planet. you will be simply stunned by everything you listen to by them. 4 years in with 4 cd's of non-stop face melting solos, glorious screams and a pile driving rythym section that takes NO breaks. they write all of their music [ mostly by miyako the guitarist on the right] with huge input from the rest. possibly my favorite band of all time and that's saying a lot. any song live or mv will kill ya ! miyako is also a classical piano prodigy since the age of 3 - she's now 30 - and shows her skills in a few songs. the live long version of 'swan song' is highly recommended to see her kill the keys.

Drummer Haruna Ishikawa, the "pocket nuclear reactor" (she's 4'9" tall), can keep this intensity level going for an entire 1 hour and 45 minute set. With no loss of timing and consistency... She's marvelous.

"Power metal" is exactly as it sounds, it's about positivity, energy, going higher and higher, defeating all obstacles , conquering the world and victory in a battle etc... add some fantastical or historical or even mundane lyrics to the mix as you feel like and that's power metal. Faster the drum comp, higher the singing, longer the guitar solo... the better! :D It's a genre of it's own, metal, but positive! Fits them like a glove.

Yeah guys you just sow the winners of the 2018 year in category for best new metal band. Lovebites are power metal band formed in 2016 by Miho the bassist and composer and Haruna the drummer in Tokyo. The other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter, Midori the lead guitarist (with blonde hair) and backing vocals and Miyako the other lead guitarist and pianist and composer with the black hair. Their last album Electric pentagram is nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. They are influenced by 80s metal. You have to check some songs from their last concert Five of kind in Zepp Diversity Tokyo from this year like Thunder vengeance, Signs of deliverance, Swan song, Dancing with the devil, Holly war, Break the wall, Hammer of wrath Rise some hell. There is so many songs. All the concert is mind blowing stuff. Is not about the musicianship and chemistry only. They've got a real connection between them and very good friendship as well. What are they putting in the water? Education, from years ago. Music is a mandatory subject in Japan from nursery school. Almost all the secondary boys and girls in Japan must learn to play an instrument so in millions of people some really good must appears. Also they have a lot of schools for musicians after high school when they learn not only to play well, also a lot of music theory. Some of the Band Maid members attend to one of them. And well, the boys are doing the same thing. Of course great metal bands from Japan can be less populars because... they are boys and well, in the west already have a lot of them but of course they have a lot also. The anomaly from our point of view is the number of girls doing rock and metal but only because this is strange here. Japan have a lot of all female bands, they are not a novelty. One of the oldest groups in Japan "all female" is still active, and d have between their fans people like Kurt Cobain years ago (Shonen Knife). Some popular bands in Japan appears a long time ago. If you love great singing then the 70's and 80's are for you. Lovebites When Destinies Align is melodic speed metal and power metal reminiscent of the 1980's. Consider that Lovebites is neo-classical in large part because of Miyako, the guitarist on the right. Again, this showcases Miyako but also Midori (blonde guitarist) and Asami (lead vocals). Haruna is such and excellent drummer and she is such a strong backbone for this band. Miho is the bass player and really knows how to rock. Asami is tiny and such a fun person off stage. Doesn't look metal. But on stage or when singing, she has such a dynamic voice. This band doesn't have one good song in their library. They just don't write good songs. Instead, they write masterpieces. KZfaq has been a great source of finding new bands. Be this with reaction videos or through algorithmic suggestions. The aesthetic of the band is well thought out. Instead of the standard denim and leather, they go with classy and beautiful, like princesses. I heard on one reaction that a 10 year old had summed up Lovebites this way, "Even princesses can play heavy metal." Couldn't agree more.
