I think this a great intervention and very easy to use...It can apply to children of all ages and gets them talking and thinking about their significant life events, both positive and negative. I plan to use this with some of my clients, ages 6-11. Thanks!

Love it! Can you do it with a 14 year old? If we don’t have an office where do you suggest to store these? Thank you!

This would be a great idea for one of my clients, but I know she would not be open to talking about the negative? How in your therapeutic practice do you know when clients are ready to open up about the negative events in their life, do you give a gentle pull for the negative or do you wait until they are entirely ready to open up about the negative? Thank you: I hope that makes somewhat of sense. Love your interventions.

Like any therapeutic intervention, this should only be introduced once a trusting relationship has been established. You can gently facilitate the child to one up but if he/she is guarded then best to focus on less threatening interventions until the child is ready.
