Hehe, yeah I know this one. Problem is after your impressionable girlfriend looks at you in awe, a minute or two goes by and she starts to realize I can't REALLY play anything else than this and a few kiddie songs, fragments of songs... then finally, I have to admit "I'm really a bass player."

I recently got a Breedlove and I think it is the best acoustic I have played.

Breedlove is a highly underrated company. I have a Breedlove, pro series, 6 string acoustic electric… Breedlove acoustic electric bass Breedlove pro series 12 string. The sound coming out of all of them is incredible, especially the 12 string… the sound is like nothing I ever heard before… Almost sounds like an acoustic guitar on steroids in Dolby surround. I’ve become a huge fan of acoustic electric bass guitars over the past few years. Simply because, I can pick it up and start playing some random notes, come up with a catchy bass line and build the song around it. Not having to plug-in and the ability to walk around the neighborhood with it at 3 AM and create the beginnings of a song to be. Same thing goes for the six and 12 string acoustics. Just an overall joy to play. The same or better quality than a Martin at a fraction of the cost. I actually sold my Martin 12 string after playing the Breedlove… It just had an overall better, more dynamic and fuller sound. With incredible low end, nice, mid range, and a sharp, high-end, without any twang or tinge. It just sounds like you’re playing three or four guitars at a time. Heavenly is the only way I can describe it. Same thing with the six string and ‘slapping da bass, mon’. LoL. definitely a great video. Keep doing what you do and enjoy every second of every day, like it’s your last.

Don’t buy an acoustic until you check out Seagulls line. Solid wood, hand crafted with Godin electronics. Sweet, sweet sound that I would compare with ANY upper end guitar. Reasonably priced as well. Wouldn’t trade my 10 year old SWS Maritime series for another. Superior right out of the box. Worth your consideration

Always enjoy your lessons b/c they give me so many ideas for working through other licks, chord locations, etc. I really enjoy grabbing my acoustic and just messing around with blues chords, progressions, rhythms, licks, fills, etc. Fundamentally, your lessons are great for beginners but they also provide a lot of ideas for intermediate guitarists as well. I also like the length and the focus. Usually one to three concepts and in and out in less than 12 minutes.

For what it’s worth nothing beats my Taylor for bright, shiny expressive voice, my Martin has the most amazing bass and Resonance , but the perfect hybrid between the two is my new Gibson G 200 e c hybrid series with a single cutaway. It’s bright and deep and it’s my new favorite and it’s half the price of my Martin and Taylor that’s the one I take on stage now.

I play a 1964 Jose Oribe Constructor Classical. I have yet to hear one better. The Jose Oribe guitars are said to have the best sound you can get. I have to say even I sound good on this guitar. My father in law gave it to me when he passed at 93. I didnt pay much attention to it as I have several guitars. But I picked it up one day and to my surprise it was still in tune. When I strummed it wow what a beautiful crisp clear sound. It was impressive so I looked at the certificate inside the guitar. Ilooked the name up andJose is one of the finest luthiers in the world. That explains the sound....

I'm not rich or famous but I have played a lot of concerts uisng the Epiphone FT-100 and the crowd seemed to love it and I loved not paying a huge amount of money that my friend that plays his Martin did. A long time ago I used to tell my wife how I heeded better gear to sound better until a friend of my came over and made my guitar sing... she looked at me afterwards and said... What was that you said about needing better gear? I ate humble pie and then decided to work harder on playing.
