The over inflation of deals is an interesting discussion point when you have Michael Edwards who has returned to Liverpool and Richard Hughes has recently joined. Who, in Edwards' case, has been lauded for returns on deals like Ibe and Brad Smith in the past. You could argue that the position of a Sporting Director etc is being disenfranchised when trying to squeeze more profit for the club going forward. Especially considering any monitoring the PL will place on scrutinizing deals in this, and future transfer markets, and relating them to deals from the past

What’s the difference with PSR and the whole thing City have been dodging? Academies should be with the view to bringing players into the first team but if they aren’t seen as future first teamers then it’s part of the pathway to be a professional footballer for other clubs and that’s not a bad thing but to just buy them to just sell them without even thinking they can impact the first team is wrong. The game needs to stop, money is destroying it. I know I enjoy my local lge in The League of Ireland then I do watching any other premier lge match other than Liverpool. I’ve always loved football but I’ve stopped watching full games that aren’t involving the teams I support cause I can’t identify with these clubs/teams anymore. The cost to bring my son to one Liverpool game actually pays for our season tickets, match day experiences and travel for the season with our League of Ireland Side Waterford FC, plus the kids get to meet the players in normal day life and they admire those players. Just can’t get near any other footballers above certain levels even though they are millionaires because of the average fan.
