I had a guy the other day tell me they banned for organic teaming. Then when I showed him their clarification of the stance that they only care about pre teaming, they told me ok but 1 day before that clarification they were banning for organic teaming. Meanwhile 0 people were banned for that. Delusional teamers want the game to stay this way otherwise they can't rank up if they have to pvp

The issue in exemplar is that looting gear will cost you ap. So in turn it creates an environment where both sides gain more from not fighting leaderboard wise in solos. It’s the way the leaderboard is set up honestly

Well with the whole portal thing teaming is incentivised but normally ruins is the best place due to high quality treasure spawns and so you can get lots of points from blue/purple sellables but why risk losing points fighting for the treasure when we now that portals just get you to the rank you want with no challenge :\

The idea of ranked is to gain AP and rank up. As you saw, killing that insanely geared barb netted Thelorr a whopping -400 rank points. Therefor, PVP is seen as a waste of time. Gear is insanely cheap and useless because you don't need it for PVP because nobody fights and there's plenty of gear in raid for PVE. The reason people screech when attacked is because to them, PVP is literally shooting yourself in the foot if you want to rank up. If you PVP, you are trolling and griefing because you're sacrificing your rank points. As the rank system is designed right now, teamer is only thing "intended" because it's the only thing that rewards you. I'm not saying I agree or like this system, I was top 100 on the kill board in PT3; but even that system only rewarded running down the lobby while being overgeared and hunting noob kills. I've enjoyed taking on the bosses and chatting with people in solos instead of rushing spawns, but I'm sure they will tweak it so that PVP kills give bonus AP based on gear and handled gear gives half AP so getting out with a godly kit won't de-rank you.

Used to play solos all day, now i just play squads

Well throwing axes are good when you are faster than a character that has no range. Barbs are super dependant on throwing axes since otherwise theyd never be able to have a shot at to fast casting characters. They are easy enough to dodge as shown in the first clip.

@@douglastakle8242 That's the entire fucking point of barb. Strongest melee class has no ranged options, or at least it shouldn't. Barb is ridiculously over powered right now and just got buffed in the most recent patch for some god forsaken reason.

@@Murasame13 You don’t want to specialise a class so hard so it either wins 100% of the melee or loses because it can’t catch fast ranger classes. That isn’t really a fun experience for both ends. I think the barb utility and weapon design (except the club) is balanced it’s just the abilities and damage outputs which are the concern.

@@douglastakle8242 I can't really 100% disagree with you because I'm not an expert in game design or balancing. However, this game seems to function on a rock paper scissors kind of system. Example: PDR Plate Fighter gets very hard countered by a wizard. Barbarian and ranger struggle to deal with PDR Fighter, but they can fairly easily kill wizard. Obviously it's not THAT cut and dry, but you get the idea. My point is, barbarian having access to those ranged weapons allows him to more easily kill dps classes that would normally sacrifice HP for mobility. Barb already has high damage and high durability, so imo it's not fair for him to also be mobile (or in this case have a ranged option that makes enemy mobility relatively obsolete.)

@@Murasame13 yeah because it’s designed around trios for the most part. Classes are supposed to fit a certain role within a team. For example, If your a fighter and your playing with a ranger, your ranger can focus enemy wizards to give you space to melee. Specialised classes make them unique, fun to play and allows for interesting combinations and teamwork, however the design only works well in teams. I hate when people demand the game to be balance around solos, because you’d have to really tone down the specialisation of the classes for that to happen if you want to keep trios balanced too. The game is fundamentally a trio game by design.

There seems to be two reasons people don't particularly want to PVP, and in my eyes both are pretty valid reasons. For one, people just trying to make it to demigod have come to understand that the most efficient way to AP farm is to go in, rush and loot your lion/gold chests and then leave. Fighting slows that down significantly. The second is that people seem to be growing tired of a pseudo range meta that even the developers themselves are unhappy with. If every engagement starts with half an inventory of throwables and bolts, where is the average player that doesn't necessarily want to conform to an unhealthy meta meant to find enjoyment?

@@AronBFH Yeah, to an extent I do agree. Being a high in-game rank should reflect being good at getting to and looting high level containers and a willingness to take engagements. I think you could definitely reward more AP for kills and that might incentivise people to go for kills more, but as things currently stand, the opportunity cost isn't the same and people are taking the path of least resistance.

I am a demigod solo cleric. Yesterday i killed one "friendly" person at the center of ruins. Next you know, 6 people collaboratively hunted me down while strategizing in voip. Leaderboard system must be tweaked towards less friendly lobbies. You become a vigilante simply by not interacting in voip. Its silly.

Play normals for pvp, its always pure carnage there. 70% of the lobby kills each other in first 1:30 minutes of the match. No one wants to lose points in HR cause there are enough loot for few ppl and pvp worth it only in the end when all gathered all treasures

Honestly the game is meant to be played however you see fit, may that be by robbing someone and then sparing their life, teaming up to survive the unknowns of the dungeon just to possibly be betrayed later on, shifting through the shadows waiting for unexpected pray to get close or just by simply being a blood thirsty killer ravaging everything that’s in your way.

The current ranking system rewards playing passively moreso than picking fights. There's just as much (or more) potential ap in clearing mobs, looting and breaking boxes/pots than in trying to kill people on sight-and when every player in the lobby is having to pay in ap just to queue and losing craploads for dying, why not take the safer option? Especially if you're just grinding for rank rewards. The only way all lobbies are going to be bloodbaths would be in making fighting and killing other players the most rewarding by far. Also, honestly? Solo mode seems to be more chill in general. People there mostly seem to want to farm and loot up. It can be a decent change of pace after sweating in duos and trios. I agree that outright teaming (two or more players ganging up on someone with the intention of helping each other out) is toxic as hell, but eh. Nothing wrong with not wanting a lot of action sometimes.

12:53 if you what to switch to hands when holding a weapon , you can switch to the utilities (francisca Axe is fastest) first and then switch to hands right after. That will be faster a lots then just switch to hands when holding a weapon(especially Crossbow)

As my rank gets higher so does the rate of teaming. I suffered my worst death to date yesterday running away from a team of 3 in solos. Ran into a rouge who was chill but watched me die when 3 spiders and 3 skeletons trapped me against a light on ruins. Biggest come up of his life.

bro i just started playing this game like a week ago and its actually so shit like i went from grey ranks all the way to exemplar without ever having anyone even attempt to fight back ended up dying the first time in ice caves because 3 of the exits near me were taken and i froze to death. This only took me around 10 hours or so to do and only really saw pvp at the first rank with base gear players.

I enjoy the rare 1v1's I get in exemplar/demigod solos. However, ranged meta in high end HR is the most unfun combat the game has to offer (queue throwing 10 frans + xbow). Normals has the best PvP unfortunately. IM has a lot of work to do in order to make HR actually fun.

I been raging so much in my lobbies, I play double jump rogue and have a bit of a rep within the collector's guild for double jumping. So I can escape a lot of situations others can't but I been looking around and it's very very common to see people just in groups of 5 or 6 farming super close on modules in ruins. For some reason it's always the bridge and surrounding modules. I keep trying to pick one off or fight some but then the whole group turns on me. It's honestly very infuriating. I don't mind people not wanting to fight or be aggressive but just straight up teaming is so frustrating to run into.

Honestly with the trinket meta going on right now it's not even worth fighting in hr. I pass up purple gear all the time just so I can have more room for trinkets. I really wish they'd actually make it worth fighting other players in hr

I’m not against teaming and I understand why a lot of people in high rank solos do just team, because most of the time the 3 AP or loot isn’t worth it if they’re grinding AP. Do they get the right to get angry if you fight them? No but it’s not like I can’t understand the mindset.
