LOW missed a great opportunity to mention how much of a CHOKER malone was. LOW didnt get off what he needed to. Missing bunnies late in games malone always usually makes. Missing clutch free throws. Malone is the definition on numbers can lie. Because when it mattered he didn't deliver. Hence he underachieved.

you're propagating a lie that bill simmons etc in the media started. Malone was a monster in game 7s for example, yet you guys won't acknowledge this. I dare you to. Avgd 28/11.3/5.7 on 51.5% FG...that's basically as good as it gets, especially for his era. Game 7s are the definition of high stakes, and in those cases Malone proved himself to be an all time great. Saying he choked because he missed some FTs etc is the absolute definition of cherry picking.

@@Milosenpotion Free throws are a part of the game, numb nuts. If you can't hit them when you need to, it doesn't matter how well you played before. His free throws cost them Game 7 vs Seattle in '96 and it also cost them Games 1 and 6 of the NBA Finals in 1997. Indeed both Finals losses came down to the simple fact that Jordan delivered and Malone did not. 1997 Game 1: Malone missed two crucial free throws with the game tied. Jordan steals the show with a buzzer beater 1997 Game 5: Malone had one field goal in the second half. ONE. Meanwhile, Jordan scores 38 points (twice as many as Malone) while sick as a dog. Bulls win by 2. 1997 Game 6: Jordan outscores Malone by 18 points, Malone missed 8 free throws, Bulls win by 4. 1998 Game 2: Malone outscored by Jordan 37-16, Bulls win by 5 1998 Game 4: Malone outscored by Jordan 34-21, Bulls win by 4. 1998 Game 6: Malone outscored by Jordan 45-31, Jordan steals it from Malone in the game's dying moments and clinches a ring at the other end. Bulls win by 1 point. Face it, he's a choker. Moments like this are what separate great players from cream-of-the-crop legends.

The problem with Jason Williams Jordan/Lebron argument is that his own argument proves the lane was more clogged in the 90's which is why Jordan had to make those acrobatic layups and dunks over people. Imagine if the centers (Ewing, Mutombo, Alonzo, Robinson) were hanging at the 3 point line like centers do now. Jordan would so easily beat his man off the dribble and score at the rim. It wouldn’t even be fair to the rest of the league.

Look at the speed of defender in today's NBA and during Jordan era, it seems like it is on fast forward for 0.5 seconds.. Point guards and shooting during Jordan era can't even dribble that much. NBA athletes nowadays also took PED's, suppliments and pills to grow their body for NBA standard. Look at Giannis, Lebron and etc. Guys in the 90's dont have that luxury. Except for Wilkins, rarely NBA athletes back then recover from injuries.

I’m 19 and I go back to watch damn near all of the bulls games in the 90s. They help me fall asleep and i just like watching old basketball games in general. They come with commercials too and everything it’s great but my point is you can easily go back on KZfaq and watch these games. Bcz u weren’t alive when they played doesn’t mean you still can’t witness their greatness and they try to dumb you down like you don’t know anything about the player since you didn’t watch them live 🤦🏽I hate when ppl bring that up in arguments.
@Milosenpotion
@Milosenpotion 2 жыл бұрын
as a 37yo it's awesome that you actually go back and watch games like that. I wish people would do that before trying to present their arguments across eras, because from what I've seen young people will make their argument with absolutely zero game footage watched (highlights are not footage). Keep up that mentality; knowledge is power. This is basically the scientific method. I will say as a Jazz fan that I think the media was extremely biased towards the Bulls in that era. Bob Costas could practically taste MJ's jockstrap the way he called the 98 Finals. Almost everybody was rooting for the Bulls, so they'll never acknowledge/accept that though.
@KDMLF
@KDMLF 2 жыл бұрын
@@Milosenpotion Yeah, the realness of it got me hooked. Players weren't really getting payed that much back then which i think is apart of the reason aside from me loving the game in general. I think everyone who loves the basketball should go back and watch these games because their real special and yeah the media was all over jordan. I dont know how he had the focus to never disappoint with all eyes on him.

First off I wanna say, GOAT panel💯💯💯 But mainly I just wanted to say, even tho zone was illegal on paper, there’s plenty of examples of teams blatantly breaking those rules and there’s plenty of articles written at the time that talk about how teams consistently play zone despite it being illegal. The reason for this was becuz the “illegal defense” rule which was created in 1987 was very poorly defined and enforced (also in 2004 there was a literal commission led by jerry collangelo that came together to change the rules and make scoring easier). And btw, the heat played more zone than any other team in 2020 yet they only played zone 5% of the time (idk the team that played the most zone in 2021 and 2022 but I would bet that the amount of zone played is not that different lol)? But overall like I said, this was a GOAT panel💯💯

Yk what it’s so funny 😭😭, they just brought up how easy it was for Jordan and they got Kobe low on they list…. He played in that 97-09 defense lol and he was dropping 81, 62, 50pt games 40pt games im high confused by that logic kobe should be higher 😭especially when jwill got dropped off by him b4 but ig man

Klay would damn near be Ray Allen in Seattle just with defense. Number 1 option. Shooter and running around picks and screens.

If klay had a individual career he would be a taller better defending JJ reddick type player… he’s someone you can pair with 90 percent of nba players to make your team better… I truly believe klay is a positive asset to any nba team. If you replaced Tobias Harris with klay on the sixers embiid and klay would be a handful already

Jason Williams actually said that KOBE BEAN BRYANT isn't a Top 5 Laker???? Are we talking about the #4 All Time NBA scorer #1 Laker All Time Scorer,5 Time Champion (2 without Shaq) 2 Finals MVPs,2008 MVP, Averaged 40 for a whole MONTH ! The Most Dominating Scorer of All Time who score all around the court inside to outside,Great Mid Range Shooter!! And Kobe Bryant isn't a Top 5 Player of All Time ??? Man Jason Williams must be high off something to say that
@antiisolation4

I agree with everything other than the mark dominating scorer Kobe doesn’t have the most points or average the most and not efficient nor is the most versatile. Kd most versatile next up is Larry bird. Average the most mike. Has the most will be lebron or the sky hook man himself. And the person who is known as the most dominant is Shaq and the man known as the best scorer is melo the guy who all he did in his prime was just score at all levels no defense. So idk where we got Kobe as the greatest or dominant scorer there isn’t a single stat or case that backs him. Everything else u said I agree with

J Will shocked me on the Jordan comment. So, there were two Jordans, the young Jordan who was athletically doing whatever he wanted on the court, and got double and triple teams all game long and he was beating those double and triple teams all the time. The mid Jordan that won the titles had to exist in the triangle offense, and this is what J Will was speaking on when working on the wing and not really having to worry about a help defender. However, remember that play where Jordan is about to get double teamed in the corner by Charles Oakley of the Knicks, but Jordan spins back to the baseline and then dunks over Ewing. That's also a reason people stopped double teaming Jordan all the time. Mind you, he did function before the triangle, differently. JWill went to bat big time for Bird but threw Jordan under the bus, but listen to what Bird says about Jordan. It reminds me of the first Olympic Coach Jordan had in his last year of college, the great Bobby Knight. Knights friend was in the front office for Portland and wanted Knights advice on some of the players on the team. Knight mentioned Jordan and Portland said that they already had Drexler and were looking moreso at a center. Knight responded by saying to play Jordan at center. Jordan had yet to play an NBA game and Knight was already saying he was the best player he ever saw.

Dwight got snub b/c of what happened to him when he went to LA and didn't meet expectations and then his career went down the drain. But I aint taking Reggie Miller off the 75 he earned his spot by his play. He was the leader of the Pacers franchise for years.
