A pause for reflection of some of my life’s events.
PLAYIN' WITH THE HOUSE'S MONEY
Growin’ up as a kid had a whole lotta fun
Enjoyed all those laps ‘round the sun
And I’m one of those baby boomers
I’ve always been a late bloomer
In my Teens I played things fast and loose
Tried this and that like there was nothin’ to lose
My Twenties came it was more of the same
Experimentation was the name of the game
Truth be told I never thought I’d see Thirty
Playin’ my hand sorta down and dirty
It’s like I been playin’ with the House’s money
Now I ain’t just kiddin’ or tryin’ to be funny
Forties came got married and settled down
A bit surprised that I was still around
And in my fifties I went back to school
A Grad from Cal ain’t nobody’s fool
Now in my sixties and havin’ a blast
Seems as though time is movin’ way too fast
Seventies are comin’ ‘round way too soon
Still pickin’ and grinnin’ and howlin’ at the moon
We may regret things we didn’t do
I gotta admit I’ve had very few
Now I’m still a playin’ with the House’s money
And I ain’t just kiddin’ or tryin’ to be funny
Now I’m still playin with the House’s money
