The island is mako island and that cave was the moonpool which if your human at a full moon it will turn you into a mermaid and another way is that a cave opens up on the island there you can get a trident and then go through a wall land in the pool and turn into a mermaid

You do know this is the map for a mermaid movie call mako mermaids. Also you get your powers when you are in the volcano and it’s a lunar moon. Also that pool is called the moon pool

The moon ring is actually also from the Moon movie the moon ring is not a real life thing but in the movie it's used as Contracting Moonlight to get more power over the water and that's the moon ring
