Imagine being those aliens in that spaceship. You're just having a normal day, scouting some T3 planet, all is normal- then you see on the planet's surface a group of the most fearsome and terrifying species in the galaxy- singing and dancing with some wild animals

My only complaint is that Grox have cybernetic parts before they develop any technology whatsoever. They should be just squishy animals at that point.

well, then you'd have to make an unofficial grox character yourself. there's no maxis-created grox that doesn't have the robotic parts.

I feel like spore is such an advanced game with very limited information. while playing and researching certain things in the game, such as civilization stage or space stage, I found that I couldn't really find a lot of info about it at all.

Yeah you cant find lot of detailed or good information about certain things which is shame. For example there is nothing really about the generation of planets surfaces other than the specific types they have.

I feel that way as well. Even the wiki has pages of unsubstantiated bugs, glitches, or strange occurrences no one can explain. And good/reliable general gameplay information seems hard to find or it is all really basic. Hopefully I can share what I know and help others through these videos :D

@@KinglyValence Oh man, the Spore wiki. There's something that bewildered me constantly as a kid. There were simultaneously so many details and yet so much ambiguity. It seemed like almost no one who contributed to the wiki really knew what they were talking about, but they still had a lot to say.

Since the grox can only survive on t0 planets as mentioned in Space Stage, someone could theoretically combine this cheat with the cheat to run through Creature on a t0 planet and make a full series of the Grox's evolution 👁👄👁

I played this game as a kid and enjoyed it so much. It's just such an unique experience and seeing your species go through so many changes is awesome. Lately I set the game up and introduced it to my little sister. She's 7 and has also gotten enthralled in the game. As I often help her with the game, I got the itch to try it out, so I installed it on my own computer... And yep, it's still really cool and fun. I just wanted to mention how happy I am that a channel with such great Spore content and commentary still uploads in this day and age. I don't know how to end this comment so uhhh, Spore 2 would be nice, am I right?

A tip for if you do another civ stage economic hard run: In my experience, a nation will accept a trade route as long as your relationship with them is positive, contrary to space stage where you need the blue smiley to make a trade route. Ex. +14 relationship still isn't the blue smiley, but they will still accept because it's positive.

That's not always the case. Sometimes you need the blue face even in civ stage. That only happens later in civ stage. My guess is that if yoz have a lot of negative effects, then you need the blue face

It seems like very early in the Stage when the other nations are still small they are willing to accept trade routes with lower relationship. But when they start to get developed they start requiring higher relationship to trade. I haven't figured it out exactly how it works, but I was able to improve the Econ Civ a few minutes! I'll post it eventually, I'm just super slow at making these commentaries haha.

Funny thing about the Grox is that if it wasn't for their robotic limbs they would be very underwhelming in terms of stats due to the very basic parts they have on.

huh very interesting theres a stage value missing between tribal (2) and civ (4). what happens if you force it to start up id 3? does it just crash? also "not being able to leave the editor because of cyborg parts has the value of 32" i love how convoluted that is i also love how theyre better at socialising than fighting. that like. goes against the point of the grox

When I changed it to 3 in Cheat Engine, the forward arrow wouldn't work and it was stuck. When I changed it to 6, clicking the forward arrow crashed the game lol. I hope that phrasing made sense ;) It took a bit to come up with something that was able to describe it as I understood it while being somewhat short and concise.

it's not convoluted, 32 represented in binary is 1000000 so it seems like the checks are just binary flags

lol that would be interesting! As long as I don't try to socialize. If a creature tries to socialize without a mouth (or more specifically without sing) the game always crashes.

Im disappointed that in the Spage stage you cant have cyborg parts for your creature. Imagine a warrior emperor using mostly cyborg parts

I tried it, nothing shows up. The tide pool where our cell is supposed to be is just blank, unfortunately. Can't eat or call for mates. But our position moves at the slowest speed and still creates the ripple effect in the water. So the game still does this without an actual cell model present, kind of interesting!

Here's a tutorial on how to get the grox in tribal stage with no cheat engine 1 get grox png 2 go to tribal stage 3 drag and drop the grox png 2 delete all cyborg parts and eye and ears of the grox 4 name it something you're already named a creature 5 select "don't save" instead of "save new" and then you can use the grox in tribal stage!

Yep! All creations including creatures, buildings, vehicles, etc are all saved as .png images. Everything you have saved locally is located (at least on Windows) at "This PC > Documents > MySporeCreations." You can save these and upload them or move them to other computers!

I believe I had that trouble too, but it was a long time ago. I think I needed to give my Windows account special permissions/privileges to install something Windows deemed suspicious. I'm sure there are tutorials that show it, I hope you get it working :)

Are there speedrun categories for the Space cultures? Like Zealot, Knight, or Shaman category?

The speed run used to always become a Zealot, then became a Ecologist, now it's a Diplomat. We weren't going for those specifically but as the route changes the Space results changed as well. But I haven't done a speed run with a particular Philosophy in mind yet!

Is it possible/are there benefits, to make BIG creature? Ive seen letsplayers face off against some behemoth sized things. ben wondering if its an option.

Shouldn't have too much impact on a speed run at least. The Creature will just follow the levels of the parts, like bite/strike for damage when fighting or socializing. But I wonder if a large creature could run up hills or something easier? That might be worth investigating!

The Grox png you had linked here doesn't exist anymore, and Wikia converts everything to .webp now which I'm assuming must mess with the other data saved in the png even if you convert it, since I can't get it to work. Does anyone know where I can get a Grox png, now?

I updated my Drive link so it should have the Grox and all their vehicles and buildings too, thanks for letting me know it wasn't working :) Yeah the wiki doesn't download .PNGs from newer web browsers for some reason. There is a work around if you take the .PNG link and paste it into an old browser like Explorer it will still work lol. Explorer hasn't been updated to use the .webp format so it will still download as .PNG!

You're probably young, so you can't know, but spore was the no man's sky/cp2077 of our generation Except instead of a tiny indie studio getting overhyped it was the creator of sims doing interviews with accomplished scientists on tv I still have a deluxe edition box with the behind the scenes dvd and you can clearly tell it was meant to be so much more Even the devbuilds looked impressive compared to what we got

Yeah! Every creation: creatures, vehicles, buildings, etc are saved as .png images! This is how they can be saved, downloaded, and moved around in the Sporepedia/content browser :D

I tried it, nothing shows up (the center where the cell usually is, is just blank) when I forced the game to load Cell Stage with a creature, unfortunately. That would have been really funny!

How the heck do you directly import a creature from a folder into spore editor??? I like tried literally *everything:* i tried to do it with the alpacka, or tried other creatures to import... And *nothing* worked

Make sure the creatures you're trying to drag and drop are .PNGs and try using those from the "My Spore Creations" folder from Documents should work. The Grox from the wiki doesn't work as it downloads as a different file type but I have a Grox available in my Google Drive in the description that'll work. When dropping a creation into the editor does the game say "this creation cannot be loaded" in white or red text at the top of the screen?

I feel like the real grox experience is only being able to eat meat, not make allies, and having hyper powerful augmentations instead of any good evolution parts and maybe advanced buildings and vehicles.

Did you get the Grox image from the wiki or from my Drive link? The wiki's download doesn't work anymore with current web browsers. Or is Spore not changing the creature in the Creature Creator when you drop in the .PNG?

The cyborg parts can be removed, but if they are played back on (like pulled off, held for a second, then placed back on the creature) the game crashes lol.

All creations including creatures, vehicles, buildings etc are saved as .png images in Spore. So I could drop any Spore creature as a .png image and it would show up in the editor as well.

4 was for Civ, 3 was unused, I'm not sure why. Maybe Maxis wanted more Stages but they got cut.

This happened to me with an old copy of the Grox I had from years ago, but I redownloaded the Grox png and it worked then. Maybe also try moving the png file onto the desktop or a file not associated with Spore, that may confuse it too.

No cell appears, unfortunately. It is a soft lock for the game and it isn't possible to progress through the Stage.

How did you know that the code for not being able to leave the editor was 1024, the code for not leaving because of cyborg parts was 32 and so on?

Word of advice: Don't mess with the cyborg parts in the editor, it'll crash your game. Learned that the hard way.

I'm not sure what 3 was supposed to be, but changing Cheat Engine to 3 and loading up the Stage will just softlock and nothing will load.

@@KinglyValence Oh hey by the way, can you also make a video on how to import creatures during mid-save (also telling me in the comments) with cheat engine? I assume theres a deny/accept error to just drag and drop creatures mid-save. Had my game crash on my game with a pretty complex creature, reopened spore to see it reverted back, and I dont wanna spend another 30 min remaking the same creature but worse. Thanks!

@@Sevatar883 When dropping a Grox in you get red text saying "This creature cannot be loaded"? If that's the case the Grox PNG you have may not work, try downloading the one from the Google Drive linked in the description. If you got the Grox PNG from the wiki that one doesn't work properly anymore.

i wasnt sure how could you use cheat engine in spore but now i feel like it is more than just cheats

Cheat Engine is memory editing. It can do literally anything. That's also why some antivirus flags it as malware.

When changing the Stage addresses to 3 and launching the level, the game soft locks and doesn't start any level, unfortunately.

You know there's a cheat code called "evoadvantage"?

Evoadvantage does not allow playing as the Grox by itself, Cheat Engine is still required.

@@polerlinisaw3335 Was it the Bot parts or just the cyborg parts? That's strange when I do use evoadvantage the Grox don't appear as a selectable creature. Your Grox was made by 'sporebuild' right?

@@KinglyValence It didn't contain just Grox parts, the link is here, and place it into data folder inside Spore root folder www.mediafire.com/file/0v35a3xwuuo58sw/Custom_Parts_Pack_Vol.1.package/file And I took Grox image from spore.fandom.com/wiki/Grox
