Can't believe this came out in 1943, pure nostalgia

I miss this fucking game. It was so simple and the visuals were very colourful & bright. Plus the music was easily the best rendition of the battlefield theme

This game was epic! Only 3 guns to chose from but it was hugely successful. Sometimes less is more. Great memories!

When bf flying was fun. Bombing infantry took skill, strafing runs were fun and skillful.

I remember when I first played this game. I forgot about the bombers and the aircraft carriers. The atmosphere was great. Loved the islands. I thought the graphics and engine were amazing at that time. It looked amazing and it still does. Played many hours in this game.

I clocked in more hours in this game than any other BF game aside from BC2. A very addicting game because it was just pure fun. BF games don’t feel like they used to and its a damn shame.

Ive got tears welling up at the memories this brings up. If I could go back and freeze time here, with BC1943 and BFBC2V, just before the release of BF3, I'd do it no-questions-asked.

It was a test bed for BFBC2 destruction. What a treat of a game for mostly testing purposes.

This vid was low key hilarious. When he tried to C4 the tank, hilarious. The knife duel, hilarious. Squaring up with a plane with melee, hilarious. The appearing bayonet, hilarious.

This game was extremely fun when you didn't have that one master pilot that only used the plane and bombed everyone into oblivion

Do "Playing battlefield 2019 in 1943"

All they had to do was pretty much make this game again, but with 2019 graphics. This game is ancient, but is still a lot more fun than bfv

This was probably my favourite Battlefield of the PS3 era - I loved that everyone was on equal footing right from the get go, and the maps made full use of the destruction. It did have absolutely awful latency, and the grenade launcher was pure cheese, but I had a good time with it.

It did have the best version of the Battlefield Theme. Much fuller than the original sound. Very epic

This arcade title has more Battlefield soul for me than the past few titles we have gotten from Dice.

I remember the day well it was May 1942 and I was out plowing the field with my favorite mule Molly when Jeb the mailman delivered the game. Back then beta’s were released a whole year early on account that the mail was kind of slow back then.

Still holds up as a fantastic game today. Now if only we could get the other retro battlefields on console, I’d be thrilled. Especially 2 and 2142.

Oh my god! This is the game that got me into battlefield. I've been playing it for years on ps3 and am friends with Ducati (the player at the top of the leaderboards). I spent so much time watchig TheEnd004500 live commentaries of this game, it feels like years ago.

This brings back so many memories, the battling on the ground while planes fought into the air, also dropping bombs, sometimes on you, then the special event with the bombers that dropped lots of bombs, near the end of the game the map always looked like a battlefield, this was the first battlefield I played and I will always remember the time I had with it

Battlefield needs the intense punchy atmospheric sound design back from BC, 1943, BC2, and maybe from BF3 too. they were banger, i want a fighter plane to actually sound like a fighter plane right over head, the explosions currently sound like f’in CoD...

I have many nostalgic memories attached to this game. This was the first Battlefield game I ever played and I played BF1943 extensively for at least 4-5 years or something like that idk, I mean it feels like I played BF1943 for ages, before moving onto games like BF3, 1 and 5. *What I miss from playing BF1943?* 1. Playing as a Rifleman and getting kills with the grenade launcher from long range. 2. Flying in planes, I’d say I was always a pretty decent pilot compared to most players. I mean I wasn’t such a good pilot that players called “The God of the Skies” or something but I was fairly good. 3. Playing with random people in my friends list I don’t personally know. 4. Getting 20+ kills, there was always something satisfying about getting between 20 and 30 kills. Idk I guess you always just felt like a good player when you got 20+ kills. 5. Carpet bombing the enemy

I miss this kind of gameplay. Everything in modern BF is way too fast and twitchy for my liking. Too much going on too quickly in areas way too small and cluttered.

I poured hours into this game as a kid/teenager. I wish they'd bring it back-- loved how simple the game was graphically and gameplay wise.

I NEED this on PS4. Also I love how this just shows your kills and score. BF wasn't always about KD ratio, it was about helping your squad/team.

One of my all time favorite games. This game has about a few weeks left before the servers unfortunately shut down permanently.the simplicity of the controls and the way the game forced you to stay active kept it fun at almost all times.
