As someone who has been convicted of burglary a few times, I can confirm we in fact, DO NOT trash houses at the top of our lungs. It goes more like: quietly slip in, frantically search for valuables and once you have a few good items you’re in and out as quick as possible. The whole thing is very exciting but there’s no time to trash anything because the whole time you’re terrified someone will come home. I’ve actually had that happen..it’s not a good situation to be in.. AT ALL.

As someone whose family's home was broken into and trashed (dressers overturned etc.,) even the concept of staging a burglary as a joke is awful. In reality, it's a really traumatic experience.
