Unless I'm very mistaken, what you were looking at there wasn't "Poland" as such, but the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, except back then they handled it by just having Poland inherit Lithuania rather than actually joining them under the new tag. As someone who got into EU4 just this year because I had a copy on a combo disk with Civ5 that I had forgotten about, current vanilla is decently playable if you don't know what you're missing. I have most of the major DLCs now. I need to get third rome and origins though.

I remember playing this version of the game and loving it. Then the DLCs slowly came out and I can't go back. But, you know, people say none of the DLCs are required to enjoy the game, while you literally need a paid DLC to switch province control while in a war. :^)

technically they'd sell a fairly economical but fairly plain car (that would win Car of Year awards on release), and then every 6 months to a year automatically give the new model free with an increasing range of new options and customization you could make and transfer up to the next model.

Anyone here remembers EU3? Whenever you declared war on someone, they could call in all of their allies... And those allies could then call all of their allies, and those could call all of their allies... Yeah. No kidding, I once fought a war with over 100 nations fighting against me. There was no aggressive expansion or coalitions or anything like that... Its just how everything worked.

They have actually revamped the Hre with the way you maintain and raise Imperial authority and the whole shadow kingdom thing, I believe you could pass all reforms in like 1460

As much as I would enjoy that, Svea Rike is actually in swedish, which, while hilarious to watch, would be problematic as Svea Rike is basically and on-rails interactive history lesson for swedish schoolchildren with a WHOLE bunch of textboxes and fairly light on actual gameplay as I remember it. I loved it as a kid though. I think they did an english version called Crown of the North pre-EU1 though,, which could be fun...

The way you conquered back then was you left one province as either a vassal or an independent on between your home region and the rest of your conquests and then you scored it at like 25% the price and time because they were overseas provinces.

Pleb, focus tree of Austria now has Bohemia and Hungary PU in it now adays. Besides, you should RM them start at game, 80% chance of getting your dynasty there in first 2 years of game, claim throne and get them early.

The new mission tree system does include a mission for Austria which gives you a personal union CB on Bohemia. It's not like you need it anyway - the Habsburg dynasty is a malignant cancer.

The coring cost increase actually sounds like an ok limiting factor actually, besides the fact that you can get around it with a vassal swarm. There just aren't any real limiting factors in the game right now.

Bohemia mission exists in the Austrian mission tree. You get it before Hungary. Historically accurate as well, and it did happen before Austrian rule over Hungary.

Actually, back in these patches it's best to leave the enemy in the fog beyond a choke point and just let them suicide units into your stack, also if you can block their fleet in a province you never take, the country will go bankrupt, it's hilarious. Vassal swarm still happens.
