Frankly I ve been "playing from nothing" for a lot of time... When I stopped learning new pieces I just sat at piano and started improvising everything. After some years I can say I m pretty decent at it, I just come up with ideas as I play, like discovering the sound with the song itself

I don't play the piano. I am a guitarist, but your videos are very helpful and developing. In addition, you can convey everything in a very orderly way, which makes it easy to assimilate knowledge. This is one of the best music channels on yt in my opinion. Good luck.

I think this video is amazing and you have really nailed the way of approach. Could you please make a video and show us a step up, and introduce a progression chart of ideas but with extended chord progression?

Amazing presentation and advice! I'm a piano teacher myself - if you don't mind me asking, what do you use to mount your camera above your keyboard? I'd love to do some videos with that angle for my students, but camera setups have always eluded me! Keep it up, good stuff. :)

Hi Hayden I'm afraid it's not a very elegant set up. I have a tripod that I lean over the piano (supported by a weight) and then sit below the tripod. It's not terribly comfortable and I can't reach the very bottom and top keys, but it does the job.

@@WalkThatBass Thanks heaps for the response! I've considered trying something similar, I'll definitely give it a go, thank you! For what it's worth, as uncomfortable as it sounds for you, the presentation always looks great. Having the overheard view is so important for piano. Appreciate the simple tables of information, too. Awesome method you have. :)
