It shows too.. Some, I preferred the drunk version. Articulation was the major difference. Master of puppets ... ya... that one doesn't need alcohol. Probably another substance. Solid rip. You have a new sub. Sweet Child drunk version was... the proper angst levels. Me thinks.

When he was sober he sounded very precise, he missed a lot more notes when he was drunk, which is obvious that would happen, but when he was drunk he played with a lot more feel, you could even tell in his face how he was feeling the music a lot harder and it felt like it had more soul to it.

Exactly. I've performed sober and drunk. if you are sober you can typically hear the nerves, if you are hammered you hear the missed notes and occasional off beat. IMO a good buzz is the happy medium enough to be loose but not so much that you lose focus. In moderation as with all things.

12:00 - 12:05 thats a real emotion. Look at your face when playing sober vs playing drunk. You obviously channel the emotion better drunk, you messed up minimally, which tells me you can actually learn to play flawlessly while being drunk. The feel of the songs you are playing being drunk just conveys your emotion a lot better than when you are sober. Plus the extra added benefit of not over thinking your playing and messing up because you were too nervous. It makes it to where you are actually having more fun playing drunk than sober. Don't get me wrong you play very good sober and hit everything correctly, but it seems more like you are looking at playing sober as more technical than emotional. You know what made Jimi Hendrix such a great guitarist and probably is the best, it wasn't style, charisma, technical playing level or even writing songs, he is considered so great because when he made a mistake he incorporated it and kept on playing, its why when Hendrix played the same song at two different events it was played differently every time he performed a particular song. Its why he is so unique, he would hit a note that was wrong but kept playing with such confidence that no one ever noticed the times he messed up because it was very fluid the way he would just keep a mistake in there and then just keep on going. Many people can play Hendrix songs, yet no one on Earth can play a Hendrix song like Hendrix played it because of his pension for keeping mistakes in his playing. Can really recreate a song when the original writer never played it the same twice.

Soulful bends are all about the tecnique, you need a solid vibrato and a good control of the bend if you want to make it sound soulful. You definetly can't do that by drunk because you need to focus on it.

Reminded me of the first gig our mate had as our bassist. He was so nervous at soundcheck, he made me nervous. i don't get nervous. Both of us continued to drink a mix of whiskey and beer. Our vocalist realised how drunk we were, not impressed. We were like two children on stage. Watching each other, trying to remember our parts, coming in late. It was hilarious, especially afterwards, trying to be serious, while drunk, while our vocalist expressed how unimpressed he was. First and last time! Never again. There's nothing worse than being on stage with double-vision so bad you close one eye, looking like a pirate without an eye-patch. PS I think you needed another shot or two! That was good though
