It was very playable, but still around 20% lower FPS compared to my AMD handhelds (z1 extreme/7840u) BUT the fps didn't fluctuate much which is a positive

I hope OneNet fixes the problems and makes improvements for the AMD X1/X2 variants later on. + Hall Effect sticks + Bigger controllers, deeper grips, adjustable positioning + Better button and stick placements. + more buttons - 4 x nub/macro buttons top of controller. + IF possible, adopt dual trackpads. copy the Steam Deck controller layout. + Sturdier controller connection + Either built in Bluetooth in the controllers or the controller bridge connector. + Built in kickstand. + Move one of the USB-C ports to the bottom left or right to fit laptop use. + USB-C ports not blocked or semi-blocked by the controller. + USB 4.2 IF it is available by then. + Microsoft Pen support OR whatever is the better open standard. IF is about costs, OneNet should not be afraid to position the X series to be the premium creme de la creme prices as the target audience are looking for the best features and specs, not budget and cost cutting.

Thank dude. Finally, a good review on this device. I still like the form factor of it, especially with my old age and new bad vision. I truly hope that a 8840 version comes out. I'm definitely not sad about canceling my order.

You can make the controllers more sensitive, if you go into the onexconsole window, done by clicking the turbo button then selecting the onexconsole icon in the bottom left. Then go into program controller, navigate to Rocker, on the right hand side of the screen the two bottom left and right controller icons say inner Dead zone and outer Dead zone, select either left or right icon, this brings up the 'set Dead Zone and Sensitive' window, i found that setting the 'sensitive' option to 'Immediate' for left and right sticks gives you immediate sensitivity.

I have done all of that and the return to Center is still like how you see it in the video. But there’s still the bigger issue of comfort.

@@BarelyAverageDude Sorry, didn't realise, that made a difference for me when playing Cyberpunk 2077. This is the first time into the handheld market for myself as i don't have any of the other devices, i'm going to use it for mainly playing games like Baldurs Gate 3 and Rogue Trader so i'm not to bothered about frame rate, 30fps is good enough for me.

Do the controllers feel wobbly or not secure on the device when connected? I’ve heard that they are. Thinking about picking up the AMD version. Wondering if they fix it with the new variant.

They’re not super wobbly on my unit. You can definitely feel them move if you shift your grip a lot. I definitely wouldn’t recommend holding the entire device by the controller because it feels like it would break under the weight

Just curiosity, do you have the BSP D9 controller ??? Since I see you used and fitted successfully the BSP D8 controller on the Onex X1, I supose that the D9 conrroller also fits the X1...(I should remové the grey rubber pieces as you did suposely) Could you confirm It please??? Thank you so much !! Since BSP controller can enabled Xbox Controller Mode, the X1 recognizes the BSP controller as a Xbox Gamepad. All programs and apps sould work perfecty

I tried the D9 controller and it was garbage imo. Very loose and over all it felt bad, unusable. I thought it would be cool because the ps5 aesthetic, but it’s not good.

D9 seems to be more confortable, but my worry IS that ..if the thickness of the Onexplayer X1 IS so Big for the D9, I mean, when you fit the Onex X1 on the D8, you had (I supose) you removed the grey rubber parts that are sticked, did you?? I am not talking about Quality of the controller itself but just to confirm if I can fit the Onex X1 in the D9 removing the grey rubber grey pieces Could you confirm me please ??? I saw a video review of the D9 and many users even are Happy with It using It in they iPad pro . Anyway, I just wanted to clarify my concern about the X1 thickness and the D9 posibilitty to fit on It Thanks !!!

I didn’t remove anything to make the controller fit. Quality aside, I do not recommend the D9 controller for the X1 because it doesn’t fit right. You can try it for yourself if you like. It doesn’t have enough tension to grip the x1 so it’s very loose and unplayable.

Not sure it we have the same model, but mine just fits. I didn’t do anything extra, it just expands enough to fit. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I think it's the D8 controller? I am not sure if it opens wide enough. The recenter on these sticks look...terrible. Hopefully this gets fixed!

If you have gpd1 or onexplayer egpu... could you please make a video comparison using onexplayer x1 connected by egpu (oculink) respect the Legion go by usb4 egpu connection? I would like to see what performance can do the couple Intel+egpu(by oculink) and the couple Amd+egpu(by usb4). As i wanted something not really portable, I really wonna know the result of this test. Any AAA games. Thanks in advance

I don't have either eGPU unfortunately. But from other test I've done and seen, oculink is always more stable and better performance than USB 4.

@@BarelyAverageDude yeah I believe that but at the moment there are only 4 devices that have oculink port (gpd win 4, gpd win mini 2023, gpd win max 2023/2024 and onexplayer X1). As all of them costs like more than 1000 € +taxes (in my case + 22% crazy!!!) I guess the best option is to purchase one of the famous/best after sales company like Asus, Lenovo etc etc and maybe add a keyboard to have a 3 in 1 (referring to Legion go).My concern is the goodness of a usb4 connection with an egpu. Lenovo legion go costs in Italy 799€ (16GB/512 GB storage) and yes, no ram upgrade but obviously less expensive than any other China products for the same/similar performance. What do you think about that?

@@Axospirit85 I’d say get the one that feels like the best buy without considering the eGPU first. In your case that sounds like the Legion Go. It will have slightly less performance than the devices with oculink but do you really want to spend hundreds more AND risk bad customer support? I don’t think it’s worth it in your case. And if you really need more performance why not consider a desktop with the $800 you are going to spend on the eGPU? 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@BarelyAverageDudeI need something that is portable (travel, business trips) but not necessarily a console, portable handheld. its use would be mainly in a room, that said the idea I was thinking about was the possibility of being able to also connect it to a TV/monitor and play with it at full power. A desktop egpu will be uncomfortable to carry with me all the time. thanks for your advice.

It depends what you need to do. iPad of course can't run windows apps, but it is better to use as a tablet.

It's crazy that you're using a 3rd party bluetooth controller. What controller are you using? I bought a OneXPlayer, it'll be here soon and maybe I'll get a controller just like yours. :-)

Yeah I'm using this controller: amzn.to/3TONSTq I actually bought it for my iPad Mini and it just happened to be the perfect fit. I think the original controller could be good if you have smaller hands, but it's not very ergonomic for me; making me not want to use it as a handheld.

It’s a handheld and I WILL get my moneys worth. 😅 But TBH I bought this controller for my iPad Mini a while ago and it just happened to be the perfect size.
