Your complaining about IB being low level garbage at the beginning of the vod makes me think you're unfamiliar with the way gear power works, which is fair because they never actually tell you. sub 1800 basically every activity can drop you gear that's slight increase. 1800 and above gear that drops will be capped 1800 save places like dungeons and exotic missions except for things like prime engrams, which give gear equivalent to your average power level. At that point you need to go after pinnacles to get more power since they give +2 over your current power, up to the current hard cap of 1810. IB gives 4 pinnacles when it's there, every other pinnacle activity from raids to dungeons to missions just give one a week. So IB is literally the goat of gaining light.
