Btw pickaxe is for breaking stone related blocks, axe is for breaking wood related blocks, shovel is for breaking dirt, gravel, clay and sand and hoe is for tilling land to plant crops

Simon here are some things that will help you in the future: -make an axe(2 sticks, 3 planks) and shovel(2 sticks, 1 plank) -these are some of the resources to make new and more efficient tools(planks of any kind, cobblestone, iron, gold, diamond[if you are lucky enough you could make a netherite pickaxe] Unnesesary yet useful things: a bucket of water(3 iron), compass(4 iron and 1 redstone) flint and steel(1 iron, 1 flint)

Here are some tips for you: -you can craft an axe to destroy wood faster than with the pickaxe -you can press f3 on your keyboard to show your coordinates on the left side of the screen -you can find iron ore below sea level which is at height 60 -diamonds can be found below height 15 and the ideal height to mine at is height 11 but diamond ore can only be broken with an iron or diamond pickaxe (and also a Netherite Pickaxe but that isn't important in the early game) I hope these tricks will be useful ;)

U can make tools with stone, iron, wood etc. An axe can break doors or crafting tables (wooden stuff)
