I wish you had some kind of separate shorter courses or subscription instead of purely the full bootcamp, as awesome as it seems. Maybe after a year of grinding I'll be able to join. When the flop goes ck ck and you ck turn and villain stabs; you covered everything but possibly one. What if you're holding AKo and villian stabs; assuming just a normal live stabby bet size. What are you doing with AKo on that board? Last question; do you also recommend 6 to 10x c/r sizing on turn? Thanks

Making the most amount of money playing poker nis about putting your opponents in the situations where they make the biggest mistakes! Thanks for this video. Just a note you mentioned most live players stab the flop too often with their SDV (like TT on the Js9s2c board) yet when the flop goes XX and we X the turn you mention they are also stabbing with the same SDV they would in theory have bet on the flop so how do they have this group of hands in both nodes? Thanks

good question! they overstab relative to equilibrium on flip with sdv, but they still get to the turn with a bunch of sdv on turn cuz they’re not ALWAYS stabbing it. it’s still a big % of their x back range.

In one example you explained when deeper you could shove for little more than pot and you had QT as the hand. Do you advocate going for it on river with front door flush? And/or combo draw? I’ve seen a lot of stuff where front door draws are give ups on riv bc of blocking their folding range, so just curious. Really like your videos!

a combo draw is going to be a LESS profitable bluff than some other combos, but if they are overfolding it’s still going to significantly outperform giving up. i think people get way too caught up in combos and lose the forest for the trees. how do we funnel them to over call when we have value and over fold when we have bluffs?

to some extent. the lower the stakes, the more it applies.

If i check raise to 6x-10x with a A high flush draw i have to fold to a jam... so why not rasie to 4x and save money if op jams?

It sounds like you're playing very different opponents from my usual games. I tend to do best following Ed Miller's dictum that if they show aggression, they really have it. My opponents almost never bluff. The biggest mistake I make is trying to get value from medium strength hands when I should realize that if they've already called one bet, I'm beaten. I'm also usually up against 5 players, not one. (Get KK, raise to 5x, get five callers... that sort of thing.)

it’s just not true when people say “in my games opponents play differently”. we’ve had bootcampers / horses in 60+ different poker markets, and poker is poker is poker. players underbluff everywhere, but they also reliably over bluff in certain spots when you give them rope (x oop, cbet flop x turn bluff catch river). when you describe your biggest mistake, it lets me know you’re betting way too much and not giving your opponents a chance to bluff when you have thin value / sdv.

Marc do you settle into your sessions, or do you play your strategy straight away? I usually like to play some ABC poker to begin with, get comfortable before working in bluffs. Any feedback on this approach?

i always try my best to make what i think is the most profitable decision long term, regardless of if its the very first hand of the night, or i'm racking up to leave. now to be clear - it's sometimes really really hard to do this! you want to settle in at the beginning. and you don't want to play for stacks at the end if you're up a bunch... but i try my hardest to hold myself to these standards. long term, your bankroll will appreciate it.

I'd be really interested in the course, because this content is extremely good. But, I am a break even player at 1/3 and I play closer to 20 hours per month, so I'm guessing it might be overkill for me in terms of investment? I'm dying to know how the strategy changes in 3b pots tho.

appreciate the kind words! usually we say it’s very very very worth it as far as immediate ROI for anyone playing over 50 hours a month. at 20 it may take you a bit longer to apply it and have it pay for itself. so no harm in enjoying the free stuff and if you decide you want take the plunge we’re here!

Does this only work when you’re 800BB effective? I’ve never found myself in that situation, although I mostly play online so is this more of a live poker only thing? Sorry I’m still quite new but nice video!

this is for 200bb, specifically for live player tendencies. at 100bb online i wouldn’t recommend purely checking range oop in single raised pots

My pool tends to bet small a ton on flop stab. This makes me feel like I’m over check-raising and exposes the “all draws” portion of my range to traps. Should I worry about it?

id be pretty concerned on dry static boards they could have a lot more strong hands (2p/sets) in the small stab size. on dynamic wet boards, id mostly go for it until i have proof otherwise.

I'm kind of confused what we're trying to accomplish when check raising flop 6-10x with our bad draws. If we're taking this big sizing under the assumption that our opponent is going to be calling a lot more with value hands that they should be folding, then why would we be putting a bunch of money in the pot with draws that are doing so poorly against that range, especially when our plan is to just give up turn when we don't improve? The first idea that comes to mind would be to just check raise small with these low equity bluffs and super nutted hands (which succeeds in folding out stabs with bad hands) while check raising large with super high equity bluffs and our other good value hands like QQ+, J9, AJ, 22 etc.

Can you apply these concepts at 100BB? Because if we x/r 6x-10x on the flop, we potentially are committing 50%+ of our stack, and we'll have less than a pot size bet on the turn.

i would still be doing a fair bit of checking in srp at 100bb. but id use a smaller xr size and mostly be playing a 2 street game. in 3bp at 100bb id just be doing a lot of betting. the deeper we are oop, the more appealing checking becomes

yeah honestly you cant just negate position with obnoxious raises. Playing this like is going to be HAAARD spew. Overbetting has its place but not in the form of a x/r on the flop when villains range is still uncapped.
