We played an awesome troll level that was deleted. Why Nintendo, WHY!?
Super Mario Maker 2 is a 2D platforming and level-editing game for the Nintendo Switch and the sequel to the 2015 Wii U title Super Mario Maker. The game expands on its predecessor with new features such as a level style based on Super Mario 3D World, which incorporates some gameplay aspects from the 3D platformer, including the Super Bell power-up; new level themes, such as desert, snow, sky, and forest; further terrain options such as slopes; and a nighttime feature, which alters many course elements.

I feel like the relatively average trollishness in the first 3 quarters of the level really help to sell that ultimate final troll. Although, you have to give props on a level that has like 6 checkpoints, since 3 of the sections just take you back to the beginning of them with a hint on the right path.

Hey Poo thanks for being a part of the relief effort in the Bahamas. I'm from the Bahamas, my sister and her family lived in the Abaco islands which were hit the hardest. They along with a lot of other people lost everything, but it's caring people like you guys that give them hope for the future.

That's the only thing i think isn't perfect in this level. Since the actual end is that part, there's a chance the player will wait there and just avoid going through the best ending troll of all time. In my opinion it would be better for the ending to actually be only achievable through bombing the wall with the Link Power-up, that way the player would have to go through the start over troll in order to actually beat it.

@@ecs.98 There would need to be a way to clear from cp1 cp2 though. That would make the level only clearable from the start.

@@Adyj-zx6ol dev-exit shenanigans involving falling/winged invisible blocks at precise times in awkward to find/get to locations can be virtually impossible to find if not spoiled by the dev themselves and can be late enough into a level that they don't show up as valid speed-run strats for most levels.

@@ecs.98 If you wait too long, the launcher will go up again and then the pow will be stuck on top, so you won't be able to trigger the donut again. You have to wait for the exact right amount of time to win, extremely unlikely someone will get it on their first try.

It's part of how a troll level works. You sometimes have complex traps, and you sometimes have simple traps. Basically, you constantly switch up the level people need to watch out for.

When Poo dodged the soft lock pit with the clown car the first time, I was gonna be disappointed when he wasn't going to experience that pain. But then he fucked up in the next room and was relieved.

@@Firefly256 25:00 He got lucky because he walked slowly towards the sword. Therefore he saw the launcher comming, because of freeze frame when collecting power-up. I ended up in that softlock like 4 times ^^. First time going left. Second time getting the sword, not holding up. 3rd time same as poo. 4th time trying to stab the poky, but not charging it.

fake flagpole -> fake auto level + fake CP0 -> fake flagpole again -> fake CP1 -> 'fake' CP2 -> fake flagpole again + dead -> CP2. PS the first fake flagpole was actually the real flagpole

Yea In my opinion it would've been better for the ending to actually be the part where you bomb the wall with the Link Power-up. By that point it has been such a roller coaster of emotions that i don't think the level needed another fake flagpole

What I love about Poo is his amazing skills at playing mario, and completing the toughest of challenges and actually making it look easy... But my god, he dodges trolls left and right by not understanding what the heck Is happening and is blind AF when he plays troll levels and it actually ticks me off so bad!!! Keep at it Poo your the best, and me and my son love you!

Nintendo caught the level on a technicality. Apparently there was a track placed outside of the level. The level creator had no idea how it got there or how to get rid of it, but it was there and the level got picked up for being glitched. I hope one day the level gets remade, but that's still a lot of time and effort gone.

When did softlock stop meaning softlock? I always thought it was a state where you couldn't advance and couldn't die without timing out.

It is, but some people also use it as another way of saying trapped, or stuck in a way they cannot progress further. It's not a softlock because he can't die, but a softlock because he has to die

The contraptions that force them to kill themselves in order to restart at checkpoint are referred to as anti-softlocks. They make it so you don't have to timeout or restart the level, but you usually have to dance like an organ grinder's monkey in order to die. Most levels pride themselves on not having any real softlocks in them, but sometimes people break the level in a way they don't expect.

7:46 exactly, hear me out ive been a long time fan of you Poo at GDQ and youtube, same recently for Carl DGR panga barb juzz etc.( too many to name ) BUT ive never played MM 1/2 and recently i got the chance to play some. ive played tons of mario when i was younger but maaaaaaaaannnn.. did i 'forget?' how hard this game was!; watching you guys make it easy. and especially when your watching like for me obvious stuff as a spectator goes oblivion to players 'CarlBlind'. but playing myself mate i felt like a blind guidedog. without saying the stuff you guys pull of is insane and 'we' just like to tease you a little when you mess stuff up wich we deem you should nail everytime :) ( while i, myself cant do 90% of what you do >.< ) just know that YOU and the community make each day a lil brighter due to your presence/content. keep it up bruh, and dont pull any Poo's anymore :]
