PLAYING THE OLD COURSE.... MY BEST EVER!? Often We grade golf courses on how difficult they are... is the most difficult golf course in the world the best golf course in the world? generally the best golf course in the world should be themes enjoyable. in this video we play the oldest golf course in the world! St Andrews The Old Course... For me this was an experience of a life time and I absolutely loved every second of it. Is this the worlds best golf course? the worlds hardest golf course? the worlds toughest golf course? it certainly isn't the most expesnsive golf course in the world... but its not the cheapest golf course in the world... in fact it is quite expensive... but in my opinion... well worth it... let's do it... and let's do it now!

Great video, James. I’ve gone 3 times with my father, put our names in the lottery, and have been fortunate to be chosen each time. I totally relate to nerves on the first hole. My first time playing I nearly hooked one OB to the left onto the road, a la Ian Baker-Finch. I turned to the starter and said, normally I can’t hook a ball to save my life. He told me, that’s what the Old Course does to you!

Great video James and what makes it so great isn’t the “golf” so much as it is seeing the genuine smiles and comradeship amongst the 4 of you while getting to play what is (for me being in the States but my family heritage traces to Dumfiesshire) the dream course. A memory to last a lifetime… congrats on capturing the essence of the game in the manner which you did!

Played it about 6 years ago. We were aloud to play off the back tees as we were all off single figures, I was off 8, my lad was off 7, and his mate was off 3. I shot 78 gross (front 9, 7 pars two birdies) back nine into wind drop a few. My lad also shot 78!! Wouldn't say it was the best course, it's just the history of it. A must for all golfers. Great video keep up the good work.

That was brilliant! Could feel the excitement, and it really came across that it was the experience that mattered rather than the score. What an amazing experience for you all. The bunkers would drive me wild. I was visiting family in Scotland when I was 19 in '03. Long story short: My uncle is a musician and met one of the starters at a gig just before I visited. He told him I was a golfer. Starter told him if I got there at 530am, and got lucky he could get me on. 5 hr car ride, didn't have my clubs. So instead got extremely drunk and decided not to make anyone take me that morning. Regret it constantly to this very day!

Great video James. Well played by all. I managed to play the Old Course many years ago on a trip home to see my parents (I live in Australia) and I still recall the first tee nerves and the great thrills of the Road Hole drive and crossing the Swilken Bridge. Hope the day was all you had hoped for and good luck with the early round on Thursday. Keep up the great content.

Few things in my life have been as exciting (and simultaneously nerve wracking) as teeing off at The Old Course's Hole 1. While it challenged every aspect of my game, and frequently won, playing there was a true bucket list experience I'll never forget.

This is so on my Bucket List. I had planned to go over to the UK to play for my 65th Birthday but it looks like it will have to be next year on my 66th Birthday. James I can tell this means a lot to you. Very exciting. I also want to play a course up on the hills above the North Sea in Stonehaven Scotland. It looks amazing and then a course just north of Royal Aberdeen Golf Club called Murcar Links. I would like to be in country for about 10 days. I also want to see London and spend a couple of days there. Great video James, I am very happy for you.

Love the jazz riffs over golf shots and sweeping views of the Scottish links. Do more of this for other iconic courses if you can -- Carnoustie, St. George, Shinnecock, TPC Sawgrass, etc.

I did say to you on the 10th tee that I watched your channel, lol. It was my first time playing the Old Course as well. I shot 84 (pretty much to my handicap). Great video. There's a few glimpses of me and my mates in the background as you tee'd off on the 1st. Quite possibly the most nerve-racking shot I've ever hit in 38 years of playing.
