The biggest problem of the tog is not the speed, it is the "hot tog" not being properly align

The ‘Valiant’ in the name of the Valiant tank refers to ‘Valiant Effort’ that you make when you fight and die in it.

The extra set of tracks is actually bolted on once it's been transported to whatever bunker it's supposed to take out. The little cranes you see on them sometimes are what helps pull the outer tracks+structure to where you can bolt it on. Pretty neat but I don't think any T28 or T95 ever actually attacked a bunker..

You need to play the oldest 5 premium tanks in the game, cause that would be awesome to see

England created two types of tanks after WW1 : heavily armored slow tanks and light fast tanks. The heavies were supposed to breach defenses (like in WW1) with the help of infantry (hence being slow wasn't seen as a problem). The fast tanks would then attack through the gap created, covering as much ground as they could.

Whenever i see a slow tank struggling to get to the firing line, i feel compelled to push them into position faster. I know i would really appreciate it if i were in their shoes.

It'd be cool a video with the lowest alpha dmg tanks a.k.a. peashooters (obviusly with tanks VII-X cause if not it'd just be a tier I gameplay) although a gameplay with the literally lowest alpha may be fun for sure

It shows just how bad the TOG's rof is when a KV-1 can pretty much exchange shot-for-shot while delivering way bigger hits (and of course never missing its snapshots) -- TOG's rof is probably the lowest of any 75-mm calibre gun in the game, this despite the smallish rounds, huge turret and dual loaders. Meanwhile the E25 with its cramped interior and single loader manages almost twice as many rounds per minute. The TOG's problem has never been it's lack of speed, it's more the anemic ROF.

Right after they released the Type 59 for sale again, my clanmates and I each got one. Our platoon loaded into a game with a T95, north spawn on El Halluf. The three of us got behind that T95, and pushed him across the A line like a reverse dog sled team over the tundra. XD

To answer why early and mid war British tanks are slow, the British military doctrine for tanks stated that tanks would always work side by side with infantry. Unlike other military doctrines that had tank battalions working often independently of infantry, with only a few motorized infantry squads as backup. Therefor it was unnecessary for British tanks to go fast because the average combat speed according to the British for an infantry advance was 4 kilometers an hour. So making them go slow wasn't a design flaw but a way to save money that otherwise would've been unnecessarily spent according to the tank doctrines at the time. As a side note, the British in the early war refused American lend leases of M3 and and Stuart tanks because they were to fast. They thought the speed would be a drain of fuel resources and tank crews would unintentionally drive to fast and outpace the infantry they were supposed to be with and isolate themselves.

The Archer was a Valentine chassis with the 17pdr mounted facing the rear of the tank. So the Archer would be reversing into firing position, thus a slow speed. Moving back from a firing position is going forward as far as the chassis is concerned.

It's funny, I really like the Valiant. Hull down meta 'kinda' applies to it at it's own tier and one above. But it's the slow pace that really made me think of map topography in general and how to use it to my advantage is a slow machine

I loved my T95, long ago before the nerf, when it only went 11. On city maps I'd get teammates to use me as a meat shield and protect my back and I'd just roll forward until we won or I died. It was fun and I won a lot like that.

46:00 Except of course that the gun on the Archer points over the back deck (its based on a Valentine chassis). As a result, when you are talking about a slow "forward" speed its actually traveling in reverse. It was designed to reverse into a firing position, engage and then drive away (forwards).

I get an unasked for push by other players all of the time. It never helps in the TOG but the help it is very much appreciated always.

British tank design was very WW1. You have the cruiser tanks which were for rapid deployment and getting around quickly for breakthrough tasks. And then you had infantry tanks, which the TOG was meant to be, move up at the same speed as infantry for them to use as cover and fire support. Unfortunately WW2 was very fast paced and so a lot of things like the Churchill, Valentine and TOG were irrelevant a lot quicker than they would have otherwise been. Now, the Archer on the other hand was a high power gun that was meant as a retreat tank, set up, get a few shots off and then book it to another defensive position, rinse and repeat.

I really miss the days when heavy armor actually meant something.

Tracks was not welded on, it was able to remove the outside tracks with a small crane, connect the tracks and tow them along

In a way you have a tank that is even slower then the once presented here, its the UDES 03 in Sniper mode were it only has 5 km/h speed

The main reason the Brits have a lot of slow tanks is because they were designed for infantry support (Churchill and Black Prince) or attacking fortifications (A39 Tortoise). Since they are meant to keep infantry protected they travel about walking speed but also sport lots of protection (negated in WoT due to the drastic tier differences). Protection was the main focus, especially with the Tortoise. Since it was expected to attack fortifications at the Siegfried line or other heavily defensive areas. The Archer is slow "forward" (the actual tank manual states that the part without the gun is the front) because it was mainly developed for defensive ambush. It plays very differently in War Thunder, especially in arcade, where you drive rather quick past your enemy and shoot them as you continue driving

Well back when the loveable doom turtle could only do 13 kph, it was neigh unstoppable and super ridiculous, loved mine back then, but hated fighting them, unless you were close enough and fast enough to flank, with enough hp to take the shot, it was guaranteed death to run into one, almost every time.

I remember the only time I met the tog, I was driving a Churchill 7 as a platoon of them drove past the other side of the street I was in and it literally took them like an entire minute to drive past. I was farming😂

i got the lorraine 50 T because i have no interest in the cobra. Needless to say i love the lore 50t so far it seems they fixed the view port issue. It fits my playstyle well and is pretty solid.

accualy the T28 is the designation for the T95 when it is in transport and they take the outer tracks off to more affectively put it onto a train and when they unload it they put the tracks back on

The Archer's gun was mounted rear facing. So when driving with the gun pointed in the direction that you are driving....you are actually reversing.

Let's give an honorable mention to the Matilda BP for having possibly the lowest power to weight ratio in the entire game: 6 hp per ton. Even with a turbo it only gets to like 6,6. So even though the top speed is 25 kph, it's only going 10 kph most of the time. To put it into perspective, the Maus has 10 horse power per ton with a turbo.

You could do a video on "zero to hero," where you showcase the worst Tier IX stock grinds, and then show them at top capacity!

British modt of WW2 era tanks were slow because they were meant to move with the troops as a support so they didn't need to go at high speeds (look at the churchills and or matilda). That's what British tank doctrine worked at the time.

I've just stumbled upon a glitch for training new commanders. I'm a console player and i know it works on PlayStation but don't know about Xbox or pc players but here it is to try. Don't assign them to a tech tree tank, put them in a (i.e. American 1st driver) premium tank. If you try to assign the commander to a premium tank of another country, it will try to charge you 60 gold to do so, however if instead you put another (i.e. American 2nd driver) commander in that tank it will say that the (1st) commander has been sent back to barracks in their original tank. You can now put that commander in premiums from another country without spending gold. I just swapped one commander between 5 countries and over 20 tanks for no coins or gold (thats an extra 20×2 for my 1st win of the day in those tanks, throw in the commander xp boost from finishing the season and you can level up a commander really fast. The secret is just don't assing it to a tech tree tank as then the commander is locked into that country and you will have to spend gold to swap countries. (Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, it did in my head and if anyone is interested but unclear just send a reply and i will try and explain it in a better manner if i can. Lol)

When Im in a medium tank I help the slow tanks too every now and then because they have more armour so they are very important for the team

The Archor has its gun on backwards so forwards is with the gun facing the back backwards is the gun facing to the enemy

I love the Mauerbracher...to bad it's armor is easy to bypass if you know about it.

I like the idea of the archer (trap door spider, the driver is in the "rear" so you can shoot and immediately scoot). The real archer wasn't fast backwards or forwards (whichever way you view it). Game-wise, overall the 17pdr on it isn't balanced well. It's been a while but as I recall, the gun doesn't do awesome damage, doesn't reload quickly, aims rather slowly, and isn't that accurate on the Archer. That leaves it with no real advantages.
