one thing i think is super underrated about the granny games... is the camera ragdoll when you get bonked. its just so cool to me. and other games that do have a similar physics camera dont do it nearly as well. crazy to think granny is a mobile game.

P.S: granny 1 got updated with another escape route but you have to play it on emulator to have this update because the game is no longer on steam.

So, the Granny series doesn’t seem to really have a plot, but from various stuff across the three games I’ve come up with one. Granny is some kind of evil spirit, or a demonic being. The “real” grandma lived secluded in a house in the woods with her daughter Slendrina. Grandma was quite the evil person that kept her daughter secluded somehow after she fell in love with some guy she didn’t approve of. When learning she was pregnant she killed her lover and kidnapped her. That’s what lured the evil being. It captured grandma and took her place. Grandma eventually died of starvation and stayed chained where the spirit left her (you find her in Granny 1 in the secret room where you use the book). The evil being couldn’t turn Slendrina because she wasn’t as evil as her mother so it killed her AND took away her unborn child, cursing it. Killed by such an evil otherworldy being prevented Slendrina to find rest in the afterlife, and condemned her into being a spirit who can’t leave the house and spends its days mourning for its child. By finding the Teddy Bear and putting it in the crib you somehow give Slendrina temporary relief in seeing what she had prepared in await for her child (the crib and the teddy bear). The actual child you see since Granny 1: it’s the spider, that’s what Granny turned the fetus into. You, the player, are a regular hiker who got lost in the woods. The evil Granny used its powers to somehow twist the space around the house, by making people get confused and lost and drawn to the house. Hikers like you go to the house looking for help and shelter, but in reality get kidnapped to become “food” for Granny: she eats the hikers’ soul and feeds the spider with their bodies. The “you” who escaped Granny’s house in Granny 1 probably never told the story, either because when outside Granny’s influence zone you forgot or because you were so scared you wouldn’t even call the authorities but rather stay as far as you can from that place. Years pass and we reach the events of Granny 2: Granny kept feeding off people, and her powers grew, and the house got warped accordingly into a new one. Grandpa is either another evil being that was lured by Granny’s power or that Granny herself created, or the only late-of-age hiker that came there, who Granny turned into an evil being out of desire for a mate. The spider child grew into what we see. Slendrina felt the call of her actual child and her spirit started to become unrest again, especially because you had to injure the “child” to take the items in its cage. You eventually escape, but probably end up just like the first hiker, since Granny doesn’t get stopped. Another time skip to Granny 3: Slendrina somehow started learning how to gain power, she “steals” some of Granny and Grandpa’s spiritual food, that’s why they didn’t get much stronger since Granny 2, while Slendrina herself is stronger. However, her pain and grief are still very much present, that’s why she constantly appears to the “you” of Granny 3: she wants to help you, but at the same time she wants you to help her find her child. The fact that there’s no spider in Granny 3 probably means the spider child died, either because of the injury from the hiker in Granny 2 or because it couldn’t withstand the “evil energy” Granny implanted onto it. That’s also another reason why Slendrina constantly appears: she knows her child is dead, but cannot accept it. Granny 3 follows the same plot of a hiker lost in the woods, but you actually get confirmation you become food because of the skeleton in the other cell. Since the child is dead, there’s no need for meat and the other hiker was just left there to rot. Eventually, the hiker gives Slendrina relief again by placing the Teddy in the crib. This might mean that Slendrina’s spirit can rest for good since she would find her child in the afterlife and isn’t tied anymore to the mortal world.

Grandpa got tired of granny, so he decided to do something about it.
