So it’s really because the young versions of Gohan are basically low tier characters in this game, they don’t have attack strings you can cancel. Characters like Goku Cell and Frieza have multiple attack strings they can cancel into each other so they can pressure characters like Gohan endlessly without any big risk of being punished hard for it. This is what that looks like

@MrShinTensei transformations are used as reversals, but theres also a universal reversal that most chars have with p+k. however it doesnt become a reversal until frame 7 or so, so if a player is skilled enough you have to hold infinite block pressure in the first 2 budokai games since there was no dodge mechanic yet
