The circle of fifths is not abstract or confusing. It's tangible and easy to use. Let's play with the ChordMap to navigate through harmonic space.

Songwriting is fun when you can actually see what you're doing. I use the familiar patterns of color to explain music theory so you can write songs.

''They couldn't read a single note''...there's a big clue that it was all, or mostly done, by professional songwriters.

I'm 64, and the greatest Beatles album is Magical Mystery Tour, then Abby Road, then Beatles for Sale/ Revolver. Actually, all Beatles albums are great, so, buy them ALL! That is the easiest way. I believe that all groups wrote one album, but the songs wouldn't fit on one album (vinyl lp's held 40 to 45 minutes.

Yikes.. irony for sure that book is for a band that allegedly didn't read music!!

Man this channel is the best. I never liked music class because it always felt like the teachers were scared to make it harder. That just made it uninteresting this is way more cool than 'what does the sound make you feel ?'.

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I've needed. This presentation is so clear explaining how to use the circle of fifths and will play a huge role in my composition skills on guitar. I'll be buying one of your ChordMap wheels as soon as they're available again (soon please), as it is a truly unique version. Well done! The Beatles were and are amazing songwriters and seeing what they were doing and how they were doing it is just beautiful as well. I'd love to see you break down some of Stings songs using the wheel in the same way, as he's another really interesting and unique songwriter.

Great video and definitely excellent insight on the BEATLES songs. Knowing the songs from way, way back... only now do I more fully appreciate the GENIUS of Lennon and McCartney. Thank you for your expertise and for creating ChordMap. Certainly a super helpful tool. Could you please do a study on the structure of Paul’s song “Here, There and Everywhere.” Looking forward to it. 😊
