This isn't even wizard anymore. Basically you either have to cosplay magic rogue (rondel crystal) or magic barb (staff bonk). The actual ranged spells are so weak unless ridiculously geared. Jay and Ken are some of the top wizard players in this game and even they are miserable with it. I honestly hope an actual rework is in order.

wizard: cant dps enough to be scary, cant run fast enough to juke or chase enemies down, can invis but stays visible? cant swing fast enough in melee and doesnt have enough hp to be viable against melee classes, gets destroyed by ranger in ranged dps output. Gear is rare drop and very expensive to gear up. Whats the selling point again?

Wizard needs a teleport spell with 1 charge and a way to regenerate spells reliably outside of combat, or very slowly in combat, or through pve, etc.

The phantom skill that Druids get is basically EXACTLY what Wizard needs, it feels like Ironmace are taunting us by giving it to a class that can shapeshift into 2 forms that are both faster than any player

In a lot of other RPGs, wizard/mage classes often have an 'Ice Block'-type spell that acts as an 'oh shit' button when more mobile dps characters jump them. Maybe we need that in this game.

Like Ice Shield? Which is a perk Jay had equipped. Or Arcane shield, but I agree full immunity ice block spell would be an upgrade to both of those. But I personally think that won't save wizard and they need to rework it. But Ironmace knows and they said they'll rework Wizard when Sorcerer gets released.

Like I said in the other thread, I think giving Wizards the Dreamwalk perk that Druids get would fix most of the problems with getting ambushed that they currently have. Wizards heavily lean towards offense. I don't play against super good players often but Wizards are pretty good at starting engagements in my opinion. I think Fireball should be buffed slightly though, it should perhaps apply a moderate DoT in addition to the initial damage.

Wizard was my first class before solos were a thing and i got to the point where I was comfortable soloing trios with one (not winning usually, but at least competing.) How far we have fallen... an AOE instant as an ability, or maybe a flying familiar you could toss through the windows of doors and use like a drone.

My only complaint about wizard is how fucking slow I am. If I could actually meaningfully kite my enemies then I wouldn't have much of an issue, but when I can be ran down by every single class in the game and my ONLY maneuverability spell doesn't actually do what it says it does (invisibility), there's really no point to playing it, which sucks because I think mages are cool as hell

People love to talk about how dying to an invis rogue is such a skill issue though XD Atleast druid land mine makes some noise before they hit you, rogue walks directly up to you still invis... Wizard is easily one of the worst classes in the game right now, and its only going to get worse because Ironmace literally only knows how to nerf wizard regardless of what the reality of the class balance actually is.

I've played wizard since playtest 2 and It's a weird case. I still feel the wizard is extremely dominant in 3s and has crazy pvp potential if it has the space to operate (and doesn't eat any random arrows) but it is just completely without any QoL features compared to any class and PvE it is the absolute worst by a mile. Wizard does need help but I'm not even sure what the smartest thing to change is. A perk? A new skill? Certainly not a new spell purely used for pve? I'm not even sure if anything like this COULD fix the wizard's issues as it is but it might help a little. At the end of the day they'll still be spending half the match sitting on the ground.

I was playing solo naked wizard into Trios Goblin caves. Found the team that killed the troll and asked them to kill the cyclops. Buffed the whole team and I helped kill cyclops. Then 2 of them died cause I ran to the portals before them and when they got there all the nightmare mobs were sitting on the portals.

Lol Y4mi one of the best rogue out there normal that he kill you, and the druid you litterally almost killed him by swinging no buff and missing 3 hit why do you think it's not powerfull ? two fireball kill me too and I don't cry, or when I play plated warrior the bard, rogue and all classes almost run faster than me so I can't kill them, u know every classes are lowpoint on certain aspect and i don't think wyzard is the lowest

Good luck killing any frontliner with 50 curses (only for cleric to cast a spell once and deny your whole damage of the past 5 minutes) There's a reason why there isn't a single actual competent team running with warlock.

i mean, having haste + invis, doesnt sound that bad for Wizard when u think of Rogues xd basically is a better version with no drawback of having to be stealth and walking e.e + versatile, u can have so much more ways to fight aside landmining... so, im pretty sure is not wizard the one thats struggling in the meta xd
