From what they're describing so far, I think it will work with the current camera.

DJSUPASTAR 500 no. The PlayStation Eye will not work. You need the PlayStation camera for it, as it has two lens to track you. Plus there is a new one came out.

I agree that Sony didn't follow through with the PS camera after it was launched. It's more useful now though considering it's used by PS VR.
