I took mine all the way downtown to work connected to company wifi (doesnt require sign on) and it worked the same as being at home

Nice video and great job on this one too! I also really like the PlayStation Portal device although I'm actually not too sure if I'm going to get one for my PS5 and if I ever do decide to finally pick one up, I might wait probably at least another year or two or so before I'll finally get one.

Great review, what is your upload speed? With 30mbps upload speed i am not getting good quality outside home although i get good quality with “steam remote play”

Only thing theyre missing is Bluetooth and web browsing so u can connect to wifis that arent open and require sign in. Thats it outside of that its amzing its better than a backbone using ur phone and much better than laptop having to drag around that and controller

You can’t really have someone else use the same console while you remote play at the exact same time. But I guess where it could work is CoOp games - I can be in another country co-op playing Diablo 4 on the same PS5 console.

lol! It might be but I really doubt it based in my experience. So far it’s been great for me. Much better than my phone and backbone or iPad and controller. Quicker with just pick up and play, and much more convenient. More comfortable in handheld with dual sense features. I’ve wanted a product like this for ages. It’s a niche market but perfect for dads, really. For some reason people on the internet really want this to fail, and to tell others what they should like. I don’t need other inferior devices. So far, everyone who’s bought it has had positive things to say.

Most of my games are digital - but yes if you have disc games those will be an issue as you need go and change the disc.

I returned mine. For $200 the speakers were awful , my WiFi is gigabit but there was still lag.

Speakers are good? That’s weird and yea I got some lag too but once I did some port forwarding/setup static ip for the Portal. It’s almost 1:1.

I have two questions to ask in case if anyone here might happen to know since I was just wondering myself. One question is about the PlayStation Portal device here while my other question is just a little off-topic since it's about something else entirely different even though I may just need some answers though. 1. On the PlayStation Portal here, can you sign into your PlayStation Network account manually using just an e-mail address and password for PSN like you can on the PS5 or do you have to just scan a QR code to sign in? I was also just wondering about that because I actually don't scan QR codes myself being that I'm just not into that sort of thing. Even though this is 2023, almost going into 2024 now, I'm kind of an old-fashioned person and all since I still do certain things like it's 2003 almost or something. 2. Another thing that I have on my mind too is that I have a few different e-mail accounts, one of which still keeps receiving a lot of spam and junk e-mails in my Junk folder which has been going on almost every single day for the past several months now. Would anyone here happen to know why that's happening like that and is there a way somehow to stop the spam mail completely? My e-mail account hasn't been hacked though or anything like that and hopefully it shouldn't have been hacked either. If my e-mail account ever was compromised or something, I would probably already know by now since I probably wouldn't be able to sign into it or anything. I just thought of asking though, especially in case if anyone here may also have the same problem as me. From a while back, I wasn't receiving any spam or junk e-mails at all for a while, or at least not as much rather, but then earlier this year like back around May or June sometime, the spam mail started to increase for some reason and now it seems to be a daily occurrence almost even though it can be very annoying at times and this has been going on now for the past several months already. I even tried to block the e-mail messages themselves as well as the e-mail address and domains where all of the spam mail has been coming from, but somehow, I still get some spam mail sent to me, even from the senders who I already have blocked. Again, my e-mail account hasn't, and shouldn't have been, hacked or anything like that because I'm still able to sign into it fine and everything. I just thought of asking these questions though in case if anyone may happen to know about them and I would also appreciate some answers for them too. Thanks for taking the time to read my questions and thanks for also trying to help me.

In my second question, I was asking about spam and junk e-mails since one of my e-mail accounts that I have has been receiving them just about almost every day now for the past several months, and I was just wondering if there's a way to somehow stop the spam mail from being sent to me and how or why I'm receiving them anyway in the first place even though nothing is wrong with my e-mail account.

Anything that's steamed isn't going to right online games. But the lag wasn't the best on mine to begin with but after changing the WiFi channel its absolutely fine and the form factor is leagues above a backbone or using your laptop

I preordered this thing but I never opened it. I spent the night contemplating if I’d use it or not. After some thought, I sold it for 150 extra… I got my money back with an extra 150… I just don’t see myself using it. I just know that there would be lag if you’re not connected to your home WiFi… Yeah it looks sweet but I couldn’t help but feel very disappointed in Sony.

PS portal - no storage, no bluetooth, streaming specs only, can't play stand alone games, no own system, has latency drops STHUPID PS PORTAL AND SONY. Steam deck - has storage, has bluetooth, has solid own specs, can play emus and hardcore games, can be modified, no latency drops, trackpad, has own system, reasonable price. grats Valve Fhuck sony milking money

Set it to a static ip and port forward to ports 987, 8572, and 9295 to 9308 on tcp/udp protocol. And try it again before returning

I have no issues with latency on mine at all. I do see a lot of frame rate drops though, but I’ll take that slight tradeoff.

Again... another review without discussing accessibility button mapping.... you cannot remap your buttons like you can on a wireless controller.... very disappointed as my r1r2 and l1l2 are reversed. Really affects you if you are not a default controller config player....
