This almost feels like a true sequel to the PS2 music and vibe

Something just feels right about sitting at the menu, doing nothing, just enjoying the ambiance

I keep falling asleep listening to the menu music whenever I try to play games after work. Its so relaxing

Damn this already nostalgic and it’s no where near 7 years yet

To me, PS4's theme felt relaxing, welcoming and all about "Hey there, nice to see you again, take a load off". This one...invokes a different emotion in me. This one speaks to me differently. Something more than relaxation, something more than "Welcome home" This feels like reflection, finding purpose, finding yourself. It's like PS5 is another world entirely, the one this theme reflects. Like much more complex than PS4's. This song is relaxing, but it has a much broader range of emotions this invokes in me. Like, it is more serious, haunting and makes you wonder about your existence and life choices. And honestly, I have seen other people here who feel the same about this song or similar.

Reminds me of my dad. The first time I heard this was around the time that he passed away. Now I listen to this all the time and think of my dad.

This makes me feel super melancholic for some reason. I'm browsing through the trophies and my friends profiles only to notice they were last seen online years ago. This feels like home, but a home that will soon disappear. I will forever be a gamer... but I'm getting older... you too. To all the years spent in the virtual world; be it on PlayStation, a Nintendo Console, on your PC or anywhere else. To the memories we shared. To whatever lies beyond. Be safe traveler.

This theme is going to have me pondering at my life choices.

This is the first console I bought with my own money. It’s crazy I went from the PS2, playing that through my childhood, playing PS3 and still visiting PS2 from time to time, playing PSP and Vita, getting a PS4 and then ending up back to PS5, where I realize how big of a impact PlayStation made for my childhood. It’s a special feeling.

Can't wait to say this is nostalgic

I got the PS5 last week and this melancholic theme was the first thing I noticed. Interesting how they put much emphasis on it. Felt like the console is directly peeking into my soul and saying "you are also here?". Felt like the both of us are lost in the abyss, connected as one.

some of you are saying “see you in 7 years when this is nostalgic” but the truth is you don’t even know if you will be alive in that time period. Because tomorrow is not promised to anyone.

i've been falling asleep to my PS4's menu theme for years. can't wait to fall asleep to this one too

I remember getting the console the day it came out and just having my headphones in for 6 hours listening to this while I let everything download. To me it was just so surreal that I managed to get the PS5 and hearing this made me feel I dunno how to describe it like blessed. I remember one of my PSN friends messaged me about the PS5 and I told them I don't know yet cause I was letting everything download 🤣. Honestly I hope everyone does soon get to play the PS5 cause telling you right now it's a great console that has gotten better with each new update. I plan on getting another PS5 in the future and retiring my Gen 1 PS5 cause I wanna preserve it.

I can't stop listening to it. I remember it every day and listen to it again, but after a month it will be as if it were a daily routine.

Me in 2030: oh wow, this reminds me when I was 20 and I finished to watch Wandavision episodes, I turned off disney + from ps5 and while I was reading the comments about the current episode I could hear this background music

Even though the menu theme is overall pretty relaxing, I find myself feeling lonely when I look at the TV with the controller in my hand :(

Living with ADHD and it is amazing how listening to this while working or studying using noise cancelling headphones, for some mysterious reason, makes me productive and be able to stay focused. When listening to both calming sounds and dark vibe definitely does the trick.

It’s so crazy to me this came out 3 years ago. I remember on Christmas morning me and all my brothers opening the ps5 and screaming in excitement.

It's ironic that the music itself is so reflective and introspective, which leads a person to question his life choices to end up playing a console for 12 hours a day.

Sony has once again did what we didn’t ask for, but we actually needed - put a great relaxing background music on their UI. It kinda makes sense to have one, especially after you’ve played a game that pissed you off (like COD multiplayer). Going to the home screen would definitely be beneficial for relaxing.

The sad thing is that the console is impossible to get :’(. EDIT: Just got it today 4/14/2021 from GameStop, I’m so happy :)

People keep saying the new PS5 UI is not good, and i understand that, it's their opinion. But my opinion is that this UI is far superior than PS4's. PS3's XMB is still better, but PS5's UI got that music... a music that i could listen when i was about to sleep, it's pretty relaxing, and that's why i like it, it's sleek, easy to navigate through and a very good music.

PS1: Hard and aggressive PS2: Fear inducing PS3: Loud and exciting PS4: Calming and soothing PS5: Futuristic and relaxing

This music makes you wonder what you have done of mistakes and why you were created in first place. Simply it opens you a window of questioning

I actually loved my ps4, it was my first own console i was so happy and jumping all over the house when my mom offered it to me in 2019. 1 week ago I sold it for 160$ and bought ps5 the same day with all my saved money. I took the first bus and went to the nearest store selling ps5. There was only 2 Blu-ray version left and no digital, and one had damaged box (but still unopened and sealed). I honestly feel like it's an evolution and not a whole new world, like the ps3 to ps4 evolution was. the console has got the same soul than it's older sister and i absoluetly love it, it's not that much different but without being an identical copy like xbox. For now i'm in love with it even more than i was with my ps4, or my gaming pc. So long ps4, you'll be remembered as a good console who served me well for 4 years, I'll miss you.
