I have a first gen PS4 and I upgraded the hard drive to a 1TB Segate hard drive. It costs me $65 Canadien, cheaper than the new copy-paste Madden. Upgrading your hard drive on base models is the easiest upgrade you can do, there is only 5 pretty standard screws under that glossy portion of the console you can take off.

I recently completely opened my PS4 (will void warranty) unplug and cleaned all fans, change the thermal paste for some Arctic Silver 5, replug everything correctly and reboot the PS4. Massive difference. I can barely hear my PS4 now and has more performance.

the ssd is a big one, i was getting extreme menu lag on my og ps4 and lots of crashes and no ammount of rebuilding database etc helped, but i got a SSD (250gb as i dont play too many games) and it runs flawlessly now.

SSD-- I load up to a minute quicker into Destiny 2 tower before other clanmates. As well as, the "loading" areas where you get stuck, dont happen anymore. Its worth it for those things, but also the speed to download and install games. Wow.

One outstanding feature on the PS4 that is often TOTALLY overlooked is the "zoom" accessibility. Extremely useful for small text and magnification. Works completely inside games as well with panning via controller. Enable it via the accessibility menu.

about changing DNS server address, first you need to check the closest DNS Server to your country. Google about DNS map , open DNS

Rebuilding my database actually helped alot. My ps4 works now way smoother in the homescreen and doesn’t sound anymore like a freaking tank! Thanks 🙏🏻

To add to the ssd thing. I have a giant 6tb reg drive as my external and a 1tb internal ssd. Games I play the most are on the ssd and if I want to play something on the external I move it to the ssd. It's a great way to get the ssd benefits without having to buy the biggest ssd and plenty of storage to not have to delete things.

if you have a PS4 pro there's this thing called boost mode it's right under the HDMI link and it says the PS4 pro and any games that came out after it will experience improve gameplay and higher frame rates

Bonus tip!! If you want to go directly to the game in your disk drive when you first turn on your PS4, get to the main menu (usually starts you on "What's New") press the PS button 1 time and it will take you straight to the game in the disk drive.

John if you're making these life hacks I think you should do it more accurate. HDMI device link it's not only for booting up PS4 and TV simultaneously, but you can take control over some ps4 functions with your TV remote too.

I dropped a 2TB ssd in my Pro and load times are amazing but it’s still loud on high performance games like Spiderman and Ghosts of Tsushima... but over all the SSD is such a wise choice.

at 1.50 you cant disconnect the light, otherwise you will disconnect the charger port. before you say what you said.... maybe say charge your controller first then once fully charged disconnect the light for tiny bit longer battier life, well i argue the light takes near to no power because its a LED light. i would rather disconnect the dual shock that would use more power.
