I fucking love my Vita. The problem is that while the hardware and everything that makes the console is there, the software isn't. Don't get me wrong, I have over 20 exclusive titles on it that I enjoyed, but my 3DS has a ton more. Still, from the hardware portion the Vita beats the 3DS so hard. I'm not just talking tech specs here, I mean OS and presentation as well.

I want one so badly but those memory cards are like a slap in the face man. :(

Only people who have a PS Vita understand how amazing this handheld is. Screw AAA games, I have a PS4 for that. The indies are amazing, ps classics are amazing to play, remoteplay is incredible (sometimes I go on a trip and I just remote play cities away) and a lot of great japanese games appear here and there (Freedom Wars, YS)...

You can move the icons around and create folders for a more personal experience. Oh yeah don't forget about the screenshot mode on the PS vita, hold the PS button and then hit start. I took screenshots during KZ mercenary and put them on my background. I was very surprised with the amount of features on the system the most. Its a fantastic piece of hardware.

I've been debating between this and a 3DS XL for a while, but I think I'll go with the 3DS because of the huge library of fantastic first party titles. Also, I have a PS3 and PS4 so I'm not really missing out on any PlayStation exclusives. And remote play to me is cool, but definitely not a necessity.

I like how detailed you got to review this. I own the Assassin's Creed white model. I just love this PS Vita. Kill Zone Mercenary is amazing. Call of Duty was not too bad but Kill zone was just amazing. I have the PS Vita grip and that makes things much more better while playing a shooter game. Also with the PS4 remote play.. wow i love my baby Vita even more!.

Damn I felt great about getting a PS VITA. I mean it just has everythung. The screen is beautiful and bright, easy touchscreen navigation, dual analog controls and dazzling resolution. I only found an uncomfortable factor with boy clickable analog sticks. which should be a new model Sony should make for it to be honest. Touchscreen and video media is way better than 3DS though.

Rich what do you think of the vita today? Today, I went through on my vita using my phone as a hotspot while getting brakes and alignment - Zero Dawn Horizon - RDR2- Spider-Man - YS: Memoris of Celceta - MG: Peacewalker - SF vs Tekken - Macross Delta. I just can't do that on my switch. I love the switch and what it can become but I can't switch between these level of games yet.

so i just got my ps vita for christmas and i LOVE IT! the only first person shooter i have on it so far is call of duty black ops declassified, and its really good. but i really do want killzone mercenary and i just have to ask, is it 6GB on the catridge or just download? also how much does that castlevania game cost?

I've watched tons of reviews for the vita but this one with you playing castlevania sotn, showing of killzone and rayman legends, and talking about every part of the console likes and dislikes. This is the best review for the vita I've ever seen. It's sad though the vita is dead, no worse it's rotting. It has been past the point to where sony can do nothing! Which brings up the magical but scary question; what will play- station do? Will this be the last chapter in the portable-sony console life, or will the continue to sell a new ps portable-console. And if they did would they upgrade it or downgrade the hardware in order to lower the cost!!! MAN, what will happen to ps portable consoles :(

Know what? Someone should come out with a microSD adapter. I would easily pay $30 for one to be able to throw a 64GB card in there for a FRACTION of the price.

So far I own the ps4, wii u, Xbox one, and a 3ds. I'm thinking about buying a vita tomorrow along with soul sacrifice, uncharted (plus free), and persona. The only things causing me doubt are those memory cards and I'm wondering if Sony is gonna support the vita since the ps4 just came out they might just switch focus to that :/ should I get one or wait till e3 for some news?

The stupid memory cards killed this god frosaken console. I wanted to get a Vita so much, even today I feel pain at not owning a Vita since it is way superior than the new 3DS (which I own) from a hardware perspective. But $110 for a memory card? I will always hate Sony for killing this console.

I was gonna buy one, but i think it lacks in games. the 3DS at least have a handful of games i'm remotely interested in.

ps vita is a nice handheld but sony has left it out to dry. the biggest problem with the ps vita is there lack of gaming titles and now since sony's attention is on the ps4 the vita is looking more and more like an after thought. Many 3rd party developers are moving further and further away from developing games on it due to poor sales and are focusing a lot of their attention now towards next gen consoles and the 3DS. This is why I chose the 3DS over the vita. I honestly wouldn't be surprised is sony pulls the plug on the vita in the next couple of years and gets out of the handheld business altogether. They just seem like they aren't passionate about it like Nintendo is.

I'm looking to get either a PSP or a PS Vita mostly for remote play but you said something about it not running very fast and there not being very many compatible games. Are there any first person shooters that are compatible? And out of the PS Vita and PSP which is better for remote play?

Just a port? Yeah no. The Vita version walks circles around the PS2 version. You think Vita has no good games? Persona 4 Golden, Killzone, Uncharted, Gravity Rush, DJ Max Technika Tune, Atelier series, Assassin's Creed, Blazblue(lol 3DS version is missing shit), Ninja Gaiden, Resistance, Wipeout, UMvC3, Disgaea, DOA5+, Little Big Planet, The Walking Dead, Soul Sacrifice, Ragnarok Odyssey, and Dynasty Warriors to name a few. Yeah, Vita has no games huh?

The Vita is awesome, it's just those god damn memory cards.. They do not have enough space on them. For my use I need at least 128 GB, since I like to download my games so it's more portable and I don't need to take my games with me too. And then the fact that there ins't a press down on the thumb sticks. Another thing that they can add though is the support of choosing the exact button combination you want to change to the right thumb stick. For example GTA VCS. Great game that runs well on the Vita, but since it is ported over from the original PSP, you have to hold down the L button and then use the left thumb stick to move the camera. You can't map this to the right one and thats pretty annoying... Otherwise great machine with a lot of potential.

But what do you think about the touch pad bellow the psp vita? Is it good or a bad thing. Sure $99.99 dollars for a specific 32gb memory card is way too expensive,but in 2005,that was normal, i remember i bought an 128MB mmc card in 2005,haha lol,but yeah, anno 2015,eveb 32Gb for that price is too much. It's sad that company's sometimes try to hard to make more money out of you.

Give up The system costs a ton of money to develop games for, almost just as much as console games, and it's far more risky to develop for a portable than it is to develop for home consoles or PC, which is risky enough as it is. If no one is making games for the system, there's no reason to buy. 3DS is cheap to make games for, and carries far less risk in terms of sales because the high number of units that have shipped. The machine itself is fantastic, and I'd definitely say it's the highest end portable machine that's ever been made, but the economics aren't there to support it. It's just like the Dreamcast.

I got a vita yesterday for £180 with KZ: mercenary and a 16 gig memory card, and I got a 3DS XL also. So this is for anybody on the fence about which one to get THE VITA SHITS ON THE 3DS, THE VITA IS THE BEST HANDHELD EVER MADE, and it deserves to sell better than 3DS because it is the better handheld. And I would rather have vita's top quality games, than a load of shitty little animal crossing or pokemon games, in fact the only decent game I have on my 3DS is shinobi, sega should port it to the vita.

can you download the PSOne classic games directly onto the Vita without having a PS3? Thats the main reason I want a Vita is to be able to play stuff like Vagrant Story, FFVII - IX, Legend of Dragoon, Breath of Fire 3-4, etc on the go....how awesome would that be!? but I dont have a PS3 or 4 and I really dont want to buy one.
