i dont know if you own one but they dont come off THAT easy (at least mine doesnt). usually i gently slap the pannel from bottom part and it comes off. that "lifting the corner" never really worked for me. still pretty easy but not what i expected

@@seanmacguire8148 I felt the same way at first because I was being too precious with it. Once I gave it a little torque it came off really fast. They're surprisingly sturdy!

Yeah mine was definitely not that easy 😅. Felt like I was close to snapping the plate at the corner. Unfortunately the PS logo side got lightly scratched up (base PS, not covers). The otherwise was even harder to pull out. Luckily managed to get them without snapping anything

I saw a post saying themes are coming in the next patch which was due by the end of January. So fingers crossed they will be dynamic. I haven't even experienced what they offer yet as I only just bought a PS5 and I am awaiting its arrival

Not exactly eager to spend an additional $50 just for standard colored plastic console covers. Shame since I would've wanted a mixed color scheme if that were possible. I'll wait until they make one based off of a series, like Spider-Man or so.

I had NO idea the cover could be pulled off. All the videos I've seen before have people sliding it off which causes little scratches on the inside black surface. I already scratched mine doing that even though I tried o be careful not to. This method here is so much better. Thank you!

I did the same thing mate, they're not the easiest things to remove that's for sure. I think Sony could have definitely designed the console better that's for sure.

yep mine were not so easy to take off either i ended up having a clip on the plate break didn't get any scratches on the black surface thankfully though but now if i ever sell my ps5 i'll have to get new white plates

I'm glad for the ability to change covers. However, I really doubt I'll ever buy a new color because it seems ridiculously overpriced to me. It's literally like $1.00's worth of plastic. There's nothing to justify the $50 price tag. Sony is milking us.

Even worse the PR disaster from the cease and desist they threw at dbrand and the actual first (indiegogo i think?) Campaign for third party covers, i like PlayStation games but lately they are becoming too anticonsumer for my taste, that's why I'm only getting the pc ports instead of buying the PS5

@@irvingchies1626 have you met Nintendo? Lol and fyi they could have easily made dbrand stop production asap when they started making ps5 plates but they didn't. I still have my dbrand plates so I don't think I'll be getting these but the price was the same as what dbrand sold them. So you must have had a problem with dbrand too then??

Sony is the one who is tripping. They should have just let D-brand and other 3rd party vendors make the covers. This price is ridiculous, but Sony has been trending more and more to the consumer unfriendly for a while now. If they had given 3rd party vendors the molds, and just licensed them, they could have sold for cheaper, and Sony could still get a cut

@@Afullerton95 - £44.99 is really expensive for 2 plastic covers -- especially when you consider you can buy a PS5 for a similar price that has had so much more development, time and energy put into... plus, you can get plates half that price if you don't mind not having the logo or not being able to see the ps symbols with a magnify lens

Ive bought a lovely pair of inno aura air vented covers.. Theyre great and use my ps5 horizonal.. Its runs so much cooler, fan noise completely disappeared and i dont have the pooling liquid metal issue

Is the price kinda high for just a cover? Yes it is a bit but because I held out to get one at retail price and was able to trade my white controller that came with it for a black one and not give one penny of profit to a scalper, I didn’t mind shelling $100 to get these upgrades.
