Hi, thank you for your helpful video. I will be doing a domestic flight with China Eastern and I have an economy ticket. I was wondering if in addition to hand luggage, it is also possible to carry a personal accessory (small backpack or bag) in the cabin. I can't find any information on this, could you give me some guidance based on your experience? Thanks

Yes pangyou, I made the mistake not to fly it from Rome to PVG for 1380 € round trip in Business. I am xiabania ren, so I chose to fly from Madrid. Before I have to connect from the north. 1550 € was the rate, dirt cheap for business @@dchfoong

great video. I think the price that you paid was kinda price. I think if thee ticket price was 4000rmb that is a deal. Chinese airlines have great seat recline. Did you have any checed baggage. You have good english

Thank you and yes, I had checked baggage included in the ticket price. The ticket was a return ticket (Singapore-Shanghai-Rome-Shanghai-Singapore), booked about a month in advance, and was (from comparing against other airlines) by far the cheapest option, with other airlines offering tickets for S$1,600 (RMB 8,000) and above!

I believe you can pay for access as well (check the Plaza Premium website). This is in addition to a number of credit cards that Plaza Premium offers lounge access to.

Had the same flight, the cabin temperature was uncomfortably hot to and from. Food was meh, but service was ok.

I’m sorry to hear that about the temperature. The temperature at the start of my flight was uncomfortable as well, but it got better once we took off. Glad to hear that the service was ok!

Knowing how the AC works : its only up to full capacity with engines running and giving full thrust for heavy takeoff bleed air is also reduced. How much power does the APU make and how much is useable for cooling I don't know. Crews from warm countries will mostly set warm cabins and crews from cold countries to cold temps. Both comes with advantages and disadvantages depending also if you fly from cold to warm climate or vice-versa. @@dchfoong

The food, by and large, was very edible! Of course, don’t expect anything fancy or grand, and I would say the quality is still yet to match the top carriers. But on the whole, the efficiency of the food service and cleanliness of the plane more than made up for any downsides to the quality of the food. Having watched many behind-the-scenes videos of KZfaq of how food for planes is made (and, in particular, the complicated process to make the enormous quantities that are pumped out daily), I am now more grateful for food served on a plane than I may have been years ago!

中国东方航空最好的航班体验是中国国内航线，中国的航空公司在国际航线上的竞争力超弱。餐食差，服务拉胯（因为机组人员的英语很差😂）很奇怪的现象。

Thank you for the comment! I must definitely try China Eastern Airlines' domestic flight routes to compare it with their international flight routes! For this flight, I felt that the cabin crew's English speaking abilities were, overall, quite high and they made a good effort to communicate with non-Chinese speaking passengers. Do you think their international service has improved over the years?

@@dchfoong时代在进步，航空公司的服务水准和语言水平肯定有改善，但是改善的速度太慢。特别是他们的服务人员的英语水平。这和中国不使用英语有很大关系。和日本一样。我们完全不用英语。我回复您的留言也是中文。
