I said the same thing when I lost my puppy about puppy who has passed away 25 days ago. She was much smaller but had so much energy compared to the other ones at times. Her lost really hurt

Poor baby.. may they Rest In Peace. Next time a duckling or a chick is weak like that you should try getting a heating pad and putting a small cloth over it to warm it up. And check on it often so it doesn’t over heat. Hope this helps someone, You can try using this trick on other small animals. Like puppies or kittens. I’ve watched a KZfaqr use this trick for her kittens when she rescues them. I think it would help lots of animals, and I barely know anything about animals. Well whoever’s reading this, have a great day!

Oh, why am I crying over this poor little duckling? We are just now establishing our homestead in beautiful Georgia and will start raising our own animals come the spring. I know that these situations happen despite best efforts (and you guys went above and beyond!) Ultimately, my lesson is that I hope I never lose the ability to shed a tear over these sad events and to focus on the joy of all the happy events. Thank you so much for sharing!! I had a little chick like that. His name was Hawk and he barely grew at all. One night I found him on his side on the ground. I immediately brought him inside and checked him over but couldn't find anything wrong. When I put him back in his own he was hopping around totally fine. At 1:30 am he was still okay. Then about 10 the next morning I found him on his side again and he felt like he was out of a freezer. (But it wasn't anywhere NEAR that cold where we were keeping him) We brought him inside and started blow drying him and had him in a towel to warm up. He didn't make it though. 💔 R.I.P Hawk and little duckling. We also lost our little special needs duck recently. He had a crooked neck and his name was Boomer.

Store bought peanut butter adds hydrogenated oils, both to prevent separation, and to make it creamier. If you want the best natural peanut butter without adding unhealthy saturated fats, try growing a peanut variety intended for making peanut oil. Crazy Richard's is a brand of peanut butter that has only one ingredient, peanuts. It is much looser than other natural peanut butters because it uses oil peanuts. In fact, once it is thoroughly stirred, you can keep it refrigerated, and even cold it will have a consistency like regular store bought. In fact at room temperature you can actually pour it. If I were able to grow my own peanuts for peanut butter, I'd want to grow oil peanuts. Just thought I'd throw this out there, for what it's worth. Just my opinion of course. It's a shame about the baby duck, I too was hoping it would make it.

Julie Baker, recently discovered the goodness of cooking with peanut oil, it definitely gives an extra something to the food cooked in it. I've tried it on oyster mushroom stirfry as well as roasting the veggies that go into a sweet potatoe soup.

@@qualqui it is also one of the healthiest oils, full of mono-saturated fats like olive oil and coconut oil are. It is also one of the most heat stable fats and has a very high smoke point. So it is great for frying, stir frying, and even deep-fat frying. The only negative thing about it is that it is one of the most common allergy triggers.

@@Eclipsethealpha couldn't hurt to try it. Let the peanut butter sit for awhile for the oil to come to the top. Then pour the oil off into a measuring cup and check how much you got. Add that much melted coconut oil into the peanut butter and stir well. Place it into the fridge or another cool place while the coconut oil resolidifies. I can't guarantee it will work, but it's worth the test.

Sorry he didnt make it 😢!! A bird called Albert has a video, when the baby has a balance problem he puts it in a baby sock to help stabilize themselves. It worked for him, ???

Juicy7Juice Sadly it doesn’t always work, we rescued some ducklings from a road drain once and one of them had stabilising issues, we tried our best but it passed, sometimes they just can’t be saved ~

You might have better luck making peanut butter with a stone or wet grinder. They also work great for homemade chocolate!

So very sorry for the loss of your little duckie. It's always hard to lose an animal. We lost a guinea pig last year and the tears were flowing in a home full of girls. The most important thing was that you loved him and took the best care of him that you could until the end.

Some chicks just don't thrive, while others do. I have a beautiful solid black Shamo hen [a breed of Asil], which was the only survivor of 3 chicks hatched. One chick just crashed like your baby muscovy. The other was eating and drinking, then just faded away. Osaka just thrived. Lots of love and she's still as tame as a puppy.

This is so sad I can see how much hard work you have put in with this little fella . You have an amazing family you work so hard to grow your own things and make your own food and your eggs and chickens your kids are beautfull your wife is beautfull lady.
