Ah this reminds me of my childhood: on the playground, kids playing using printed cards off the cards of the internet on paper then glued to cardboard, with only the cool kids owning actual cards because their moms bought them a few tins, and other kids cheating by adding a bunch of 0's to the cards because they realized those are pieces of cardboard. Yup, the playground was a chaotic landscape. One such memory was a kid always beating me by always using the exact same strategy....because he would never shuffle his deck and place his cards back in the exact same order!

This brings back memories. Back in the day, most of the kids at my school had at least a few fake cards. It was kind of wild how much the fakes varied in quality. A rare few were almost indistinguishable from real cards, most were noticeably wrong but still recognisable and some were so bad it was like the makers had never even seen a real YuGiOh card before. I still have one fake card, even long after getting rid of most of my real cards. It's a fake Rescue Cat, called "Rescue the Cat" with completely gibberish effect text. I don't know why, but I love it. 5:55 Darkly Big Rabbi is one of the fakes that I specifically remember. How could I forget a card with infinity attack and defense? And of course there was that one kid who insisted it was real.

I like the ones that at least add a new (and cool) artwork 5:27 - Superhero Exodia from set 304 You don't get the effect of the card "Trip" until you smoke it When the cards come packaged like that you know it's gonna be fun

I have awesome memories of fake cards. I could buy them at grocery stores for 5 or 10 pesos (which is basically less than a cent). One day I earned 200 pesos and this friend of mine told me there was a new yugioh spot, since old ones weren't selling them, handed the 200 pesos and he came back later with a bag full of cards XD I was able to build several decks, and even managed to buy an E-hero deck. Then when I grew older told myself: I'll get the yugioh cards I always dreamed of having in holo, prismatic, etc as a kid. Boom dream came true; even if they are supassed in power, or prize managed to get them and Eventhough I'm no pro player still love to collect them since art is sick. Thanks for this video guys, you rock. I have you in an " I'd like to duel" list. Would be awesome to have a chance to play with y'all.

I also have a similar version of that "Dark Master" fake exodia card. It has "limitless offensire force" printed as its attack and defense values in really tiny lettering so they could fit it all in there. The card is printed in this weird gold texture too. The effect of the card is in even more broken english. It says, "While the Dark master released,all monster with endless offensive will be deskroyed."

so I know I'm kinda late, but I translated the Spanish Exodia. Not only does it have pretty broken Spanish, but it doesn't even have ONE correct term. Anyways, here you go, two versions, one where I tried to give it some sense and a literal translation: Ultimate Dark Master Warrior / Effect After drawing Ultimate Dark Master from your deck, destroy all Attack Position monsters your opponent controls. Superior Tenebrous Master Soldier Clan Effect After the Superior Tenebrous Master has lifted the block, any enemy that has maximum attack capacity will be completely eliminated in an instant.

I knew a kid back when I was in elementary school who moved to Germany for a year back in 6th grade. He came back in 7th grade and we hung out a couple times going to a few locals and he had a massive selection of fake cards he got in Germany and I kind of wanted to start collecting fakes along with real cards, but there really wasn’t anywhere around me at the time to get them. I haven’t seen that kid since 7th grade and it’s been 15 years.

I remember those cards with the weird circular foil were referred to as "Canadian" when I was a kid. We used to be able to pick up decks of them at the bootleg dollar store in the mall (AKA an indoor Chinese Junkyard)

First fake card was from a restaurant vendor and it was Kojikocy. I went to one of those mall shops that sell unusual items like display swords and bought a pack of "Yu-Gi-Oh" cards and they smell of sweat and the back felt like cheap cardboard. Had attribute "sound."

Back in early 2000 (probably even today) there were fakes yugioh card packs at this dollar store type store. Or maybe its a flea market type store. Last time I was there, I remember seeing: - fake beyblades - fake pokemon card packs, - a plastic sword with a picture of Ash, Pikachu, misty and brock as the hilt - and a few plastic guns and swords with stolen artwork from 80s action films and power rangers.

I got 3 blue eyes white dargons... and the fusion monster blue eyed ultimate lizard king. The required card for the fusion was in the pack with the "ultimate lizard king", it was called fusionDANCE. Like from Dragonball. I sadly traded some of those cards for a Dark Magic Man, Magical Lady of Knights, and Sliver Dancer in the Skies. All fake cards. Because they were hilarious.

I got a really funny fake card as a kid. I basically traded a pokemon card for an entire pile of yugioh cards and among them was this one fake card: Dark, the art of Monster Reborn, some gibberish as an effect, i believe 2000 ATK and DEF. But the name was in insane. It was German and read: "Essen Seelen Geister Messer". Literally translated "Eating Souls Ghost Knives" or "Do Souls eat Ghost Knives". 10/10 best card I ever owned.
