I still get goosebumps when I hear this song because my band played this at a HS talent show and I ripped the bass line. 1979...can't believe that was 41 years ago.

Ted Talks Bass, I really wanted to be a professional bass player like you but I was good at sports and that was my ticket to college and success. I’m retired now and just enjoy playing and learning from videos like yours, especially the Prince ones.

You hand me any bass and I'll test that shit out with this bassline. It's been my go to bass track for over 30 years...and if I cannot hit those slaps, ghost notes and harmonics on that bass something is wrong, and "...here's your faulty bass back!" Lol

Dude, I'm a 55 y/o guitarist who dabbles with the bass being that I do mostly originals and a lot of the Minneapolis sound. I've been playing guitar since I was 12 and playing bass since I was around 18. I do all my recordings with live instrumentation. I have mad respect for you brother! Man, you actually taught me how to play "Let's Work" by Prince. I was struggling with that jam for years! Thanks bro!!!

Hell ya my bro made it to 12k. Anyway, let's open up a dialogue for everyone subscribed to this channel as well as you blyss. I want a opinion on how everyone thinks mental illness be it depression, anxiety, bi-polar , schizophrenia etc... has a effect on music in a POSITIVE way if at all.. We know that it can have a effect in a negative way.. But for some of you who suffers and are still able to create and maybe even better , how do you push on and what happens when you go through a " episode"? Or if you know someone who suffers and you watch them flourish what do you notice?

I think I appreciate the comment 😂. I’ve been playing bass since I was 13, have a degree in music and taught k12 music, music tech and band for 11 years. I’ve been on KZfaq for many years. No lights, no team, to time for multiple edits. Just me as I feel it and just as I mentioned, I truly want people who watch my videos to feel like it’s just us and we’re hanging. That’s some of the best learning I ever got. Just hanging with friends. Much more than most academic settings.
