Plein air can be such a wonderful experience, especially being able to appreciate the beautiful Cornish landscape. It was important that I portrayed the wonderful experience of plein air, but also the times when it doesn’t always go to plan. 🧚🫶🏻

Oh, wow! I think your landscape turned out wonderfully! It sounds like you're being a bit critical of your sketch. The variety of colors work well together, and those trees have a lot of character. I love the rock in the foreground grass, too. You can always try and do the same scene one more time, if you have some photos or plan to visit again. It is a challenge to do plein air. Here in California it was 108 F today and everything is dry, so I really appreciate this refreshing virtual trip to Cornwall! 💙🏖🤍

Hi Cynthia, that’s so kind, thank you. On reflection, I think I was more disappointed with the sudden change in weather, it got cloudy and windy quickly and then the microphone didn’t pick up my commentary. The plein air part didn’t allow me to get the colour on the page so I felt I hadn’t completed what I set out to do. I enjoyed getting the rest done at home and was quite pleased with the finished sketch when I went back to it a few days later. I love the bright colours. The heat sounds immense in your neck of the woods! I’m pleased the Cornish coast gave you some respite! Stay cool 😎 💖

Great video. It‘s ok, if not everything turns out like we want it to do. That’s the magic of art. Thanks for sharing this with us. I think it’s a beautiful sketch. I love the derwent inktense too. I also like to use use faber castell watercolor pencils. I like your videos. Greetings from Germany.

I’m gradually falling in love with the Derwent Inktense and I love the neocolor II’s. Thank you for your kind comment. 💜
