Came here for the Daði Freyr transcription. Learned that in an hour or two. Then saw you had Plini, my absolute favorite artist of all time. Simon Grove is a beast of a bass player. This one is going to take about 10 times longer to learn...

Your question reminded me that I popped a string on my bass back when I was trying to figure out the tuning of this song, so unless you have your bass specifically set up for this tuning as Simon Grove probably did, I'd approach with caution

if you have a 6 string you can just ignore the low b string and tune the other 5 to drop Db

I still think there's something up with the B string? I'm tuned to B on my lowest string and playing it open does not give me the same pitch as open shown by the first few notes in the tab. Your audio is a whole step higher.

So the B is actually the highest string here, meaning from low to high the tuning is Db Ab Db Gb B. The lowest string is usually a B when playing a 5-string though so it's a completely understandable mistake to make. Plini and Simon Grove do like their alternate tunings

@@DarthMart So I guess you would use a high C set for this tuning, right? I wonder if you can put high C 5 string set on a normal five string or if you have to get a new nut to hold the thin strings in place and maybe adjust the pickups? Sounds like quite a hassle...
