Plott Hound Puppy "First Day Home"

Hey guys, this is an updated vlog on our Plott hound puppy, about 3 months old now. We have decided to name him Copper (like the puppy's name in the movie 'Fox and the Hound). This vlog shows the trip home from the breeder, his first steps in his new home, the first night, and his first morning with us :) Hope you enjoy!

Take good care of him and he'll take good care of you. My 13+ year old Plott is snoring while I write this - he's been the best dog I could have hoped for. You picked a fantastic breed and are in for a wonderful relationship!

I had to put my plot of 12 years down the day before Thanksgiving. I sure miss hearing him "roo" at me when I get home from work. Stubborn dog, but I loved him with all I had.

My cur hound is stubborn too, hounds are intelligent making them stubborn and think for themselves they just need alot of reinforcement

I have a plott hound named Gatsby, he 1 years old and my wife and I got him from a rescue shelter. He the sweetest dog that wants to be everyone's friend.

Plot hounds have a hilarious, and unique personalities. I love mine so much. She sleeps around 18 hours a day.

i rescued/adopted a plott hound a year ago and she is the best thing to happen to me. So loyal to me since the day i brought her home. VERY easy to train, the progress is insane she’s not afraid of anything anymore. Couldn’t ask for a better best friend

We have a brindle, he is 8 years old, and such a joy, he is an indoor house broken dog, sleeps in beds. So smart......

Just lost our ten year-old Plott Hound in June 2021. He decided I was his human. He was so smart. I still cry thinking of him. He was the best dog ever!

I remember when my coonhound was that little when we found him, I miss him being that little, except him waking me up at the crack of dawn lol XD Copper is super cute!!

Cool dog! Careful with the water bottle. The dog can bite the top off and choke. Take care and I hope you enjoy spending time with your dog!

Adorable. Adopted one from the pound. He is around 6 to 7 years old. He is a great love able dog. He fits well with all our other puppies thanks for sharing the videos

I just rescued a 2 year old plott hound. She is a great dog. She will run all day, but is a great lap dog, while watching the tv. These dogs love to fetch and play tug of war. Oh Yeah, the obvious, they go bonker for squirrels and small prey. My neighbor's cat always causes a stir too.

I have a Jack Russell puppy, about 7 seven months now. We had him for two months. His name is Simon. By the way love Copper, the cutest puppy ever!!!

He must be big since this video. I remember bringing home our plott hound/sharpei mix years ago and he looked very similar to your pup., but with smaller ears and more wrinkles. God Bless You!

oh my god that car is huge australian ones have like enough room to fit your feet and move around and then there are the front seats copper is adorable i remember introducing buddy to the guinea pigs and he was scared of them

my plot hound mixed with german shepherd died a month ago and i’m still crying and the rest of my family all ready wants and is going to buy a new puppy we’re getting it next month but your pup reminds me so much of her she passed in a freak accident at 5 months old

I have a male plott named Commander Cletus. He is a good old boy and likes to run for miles. If he doesnt get to chase at least one rabbit per day he starts to go insane.

same dog, just be careful as everyone knows about too much play right after eating. they will roll off their back instantly onto their legs if in play mode which could be a risk to their stomach. otherwise, good breed but with all pure-breds you have to watch for health issues more than mutts. mine has cost me lot of money at the vet!

@@donnamegee6042 update, most of the vet charges were from misdiagnosis. medication was prescribed in error. heart worm medication was the root cause of the issues discovered years later. most money was wasted. Plott at 14 off medication has more energy than Plott at 8 on medication. Strong breed in senior years.

Congrats with Copper! I think the name suits him, Idk what I would of called him xD His markings are beautiful, my cousin has a grey hound with very similar colours. Good luck with him, I hope when he is interested in the piggy he's ok 😂 Best of luck!

We found a breeder who breeds only Plott Hounds for years. In California Shingle Springs, but we are from California so it wasn't too far

I have a plott hound but get this a normal sized plott hound is 52 pounds my plott hound is 82 pounds

Plastic bottles do NOT make good toys!!😱 A puppies sharp pointy teeth will rip it apart easily and tiny shards of the bottles thin plastic might be ingested. Just be careful with that stuff and buy toys that are safe. He's cute!!💖💖💖
