Hi dear Jeska, i am much confused about my data that how to plot in excel. Still i dont understand that how to plot it in excel. My data is the moderating role of Supervisory Support in the relationship of Emotional Intelligence and Job Performance. Please guide me. thanks

This was really helpful, but do you happen to know how I can add error bars to such a graph?

Hi Andy, I have a more general question about main effect contrasts in SPM. After running a 2(group)x2(time-point) full-factorial anova in SPM on resting-state independent components (ICA was first run with GIFT in Matlab), i find that the location of significant clusters doesn't align with the resting state network I expected the cluster to be located in. For instance: if through visual inspection of my ICA output, i find a visual resting state network, i run an anova in SPM and search for main effects of group, time and interactions. However, a significant cluster for main effect of group in the visual resting state network for instance, could appear in the middle frontal gyrus. Could you explain why we'd see this? I thought that significant clusters would only appear within the resting state network region, and not outside of this region. Thanks for your time, Cristina

Hi, how can I plot an overlapping 3-way interaction in excel? Thank you for your help in advance. I have three categorical variables, one with 3 levels, and the other two with 2 levels.

Andrew, what if I have all the data (as in the result of each combo of factor levels)? You said you need the average of those combinations. How do I get THERE?

Hey there, If you have a 2x2 design, you should average the observations in each cell. For example, if I have 5 subjects and each one went through the same 2x2 design, then I should have an average score for each subject - i.e., 5 averages in each cell. You can then take the average of the averages and plot them. The variance around the averages can then be used to calculate standard error and create error bars around the averages. -Andy

Thanks for replying so swiftly, Andy. I have 30,000 subjects. 15,000 received an airline mail offer with no logo, 15,000 WITH a logo. Of each 15,000 5,000 got no offer, 5,000 "double miles," and 5,000 "anywhere double" miles. I just have that data.

Hi, really nice video! Thank you. Do you have a vide on how to test its significance?
@AndrewJahn

Hi Aida, no, I don't - at least, not yet. You would need the individual values for both sets of subjects before you could do that, but once you have that, you can use Excel's built-in T.test function. Check that out and see if it gives you what you need. -Andy
