Alan has the plough and power-harrow on hoping for an Autumn reseeding to allow a first cut of silage next year. Is his New Holland tractor up to the tasks on the farm and will any new machinery be purchased anytime soon??

After the first pass those boards where shining. Wee three furrow pulled with a mf 165. I miss those days.

Could you do a tractor look around series start the back and do the spools and talk about the double acting and when you use it what float means and what the taps do on the spools and the specs on different tractors like open centre and closed centre hydraulics . Then do the pto like 1000/540 shaft and when you use each and the pros and cons of each.then work your way round the engine and what everything in it does under the bonnet, then do the axel brakes clutch tyre pressure etc

better off having less and doing it right. Alan would be better getting contractor to do pit silage and investing the money he gets from selling the 2305 (I think) and the time and effort put into trying to get silage cut be used to take out stress on hammering in so new fence posts (my own opinion)
@alanclyde8253
@alanclyde8253 4 жыл бұрын
Doing less and doing it right i agree with. The silage gear is all paid off and is too big a saving to get contractors in(same time if harvester died I prob wouldn't buy another one) the balance does need to change that I get contractors in when I'm under pressure whether I have my own machinery or not. Flipside if I'd been relying on getting contractor to ploughing year I would have missed the weather to get it reseeded . Will also have to do a fencing video😉

@@alanclyde8253 get the point that ure coming from. the way I would be thinking is getting in contractors to do just silage. you could still keep the plough to do the reseeding end of it but is the stress and hassle of trying to get silage done. (Don't know what silage acreage you are doing) but would it not be more beneficial to get the contractor to do the likes of the silage and still be able to look after the reseeding yourself. not saying u have to get the contractor to do everything. :)
@alanclyde8253
@alanclyde8253 4 жыл бұрын
@@deutz3904 I know what you mean,silage is stress and hassle and getting help can be a big issue too. Contractors could end up getting the work at any stage though what savings I can make (120acres plus a year) I set aside the money to try and improve the yard fences and such. Until I'm more financially stable I'll still give myself the torture🙈 but plenty of work keeps me out of mischief😉

And I'd love a tidy yard too but when your holding down a job as Well as running a farm and trying do all the work yourself to save a bit of money to invest in improving the farm structure into a viable business I'm not for starting to tidy the yard at midnight.
