You should tell them to add another light to the black box on the snow plow itself so that it’s basically a spot light on the ground so you have max visibility. I’ve seen plows before not sure what brand that were rear mounted, but had the light on the box above the actual plow, and one on each end of the wing that had two sides to the light, one side pointed out facing behind the truck and the other side of the bulb pointed toward the ground but facing forwards toward the cab so you could see the ground when you have the wings facing toward the truck instead of outward. I like extra visibility not just for yourself while plowing but the more someone else can see you the better I think. That’s why I also like the plow edge markers to have little LED’s inside to make it more apparent where exactly your edge is, especially when you’re out for 20-40 hours it helps to have a more noticeable point of reference!

for my work front it the way. work for the township, so mostly plowing roads...so just pushing from the front i think makes more sense.but if we did more parking lots i could see this being more useful. of course, our truck are international 7500's (or most are, still working on replacing mid 90's kodiaks) and we run with salt. we've also a few F550's for smaller routes.

I plowed for a couple of years and lost my butt. Tore out a transfer case, steering knuckle on a closed knuckle, broke the ram off the pump on a western plow. I'm in no way interested in doing any more of that, but I enjoyed watching this video. I did get a good tax write off. The truck I now own does have the plow and towing package just because that is what I wanted. I didn't pick up on the tires you are running. The last set I bought was BF Goodrich TA radials. I have 26k on the Micheline tires that came on my truck so I'll be shopping for tires soon. I was told these are made in Fort Wayne Indiana. If anyone knows of something better, I would like to hear their recommendations. Thanks for the video.

If i had that installed on my truck i would use that as an excuse to get a 5th wheel camp since the rails are already installed in the bed of the truck if they are raided for that kind of wight and that would help to save time with plowing

Don't know if you heard of R.A.S.K. ASSOCIATES they are in six states now plowed for them for 15 years as a foreman when Indiana got snow, only thing i see in your videos plowing snow with lots of equipment in one lot! I was always shamed for that, especially with snow boxes 15' was charged as 2 truck hours which cut your time on lot. You do a great job from what ive seen. Its a lot of work in short amount of time. Miss the snow here in Indiana maybe 15' in three years on those days would be 20 or more hours in a truck cab covering 24 lots. Have a good season! DND LANDSCAPE

That light looks like they met up with Federal Signal for their light technology. Personally Stan I would still get a V plow for the deep events. Use the V to punch a hole through and the pull plow to widen your hole like having side wings. Also if you have a pull plow forget about salting or deicing. It would be in the way. Yet you can add a wing to your pickups and still do deicing work at the same time.

I can't think of any way this is harder on your truck. Trucks are designed and tested to pull heavy loads forward. Also, they are built to have heavy loads on the rear suspension, and all attach points to the truck are points designed for heavy loads, aka trailers.

My first issue with plowing this way is the truck driving over the snow before plowing. Plowing forward provides a cleaner job. The second is driving forward while simultaneously paying attention to what is behind you. This only invites the potential for accidents. Third is more of a question. How the hell would you be able to plow a four to six foot drift? I'll stick to my 9.5' v-plow.

y2kxj every state has different laws regarding the rear license plate. Take Missouri for example where they only supply one license plate for commercially licensed trucks and it must be mounted on the front of that truck -- not just tractor trailers either but all the way down to half-ton trucks (i.e. F150, C1500, etc for lawn care businesses). They also do not hassle the trucks with front snowplows mounted, as long as it can be seen if the LEO pokes his head between the snowplow & truck.

I've been running back blades (sorry, I don't call it a pull plow) for 17 years, the last 3 full seasons with a winged back blade. It's a pet peeve of mine watching people pull out into the road and letting the traffic or road commission clean up the mess. Thanks Dirt Monkey for your videos! I also plow 25+ miles per hour quite frequently. On long runs, typically I run my V plow to clear the lane and my winged back blade spread out to clear the width.

Couldn’t they make the same adjustable blade system for a front pushing standard plow “ there wing system” ??? Other than backing right up to a garage door or curbs , what would be the difference if they just did the same thing to a standard plow just adding there wing system for front plowing , then your clearing your tire path like normal and pushing a16 ft path as well . Or is a lot of the back wing system Be about plow weight issues you might have putting a same system on the front ????? On front you still be able to see a lot better ,instead of constantly looking in rear / side mirrors , I can see someone taking there eyes off the road for one to many seconds and take something out . I think this would work super good having this back plow system and making a wing blade system for the front plow .as well .Make that control operate as one ie. whatever you do to the front adjusting the wings , the control would do the same exact thing to the back plow copying same movements from front wings, letting you make a huge double pass with one pass and know your rear wing blades will pass any obstruction you just made adjustments for the front ... just a thought but the way they have it in this video is pretty cool for backing up and being able to plow in reverse Saving a crap load of time and aggravation . I’m sure this works great the way they have it but in deep snow not having a tire path to get started would seem to be a problem .. not knocking this in any way , great engineering and Im sure I’m wrong of course because he seems be selling a bunch of these to guys that do a ton of plowing.

so Stanley, is the sno power rear plow your favorite rear plow? I'm sure you've tested a few by now. I'm gonna be buying a pull blade this off season. and I was wondering which one I should buy? what's your favorite?

problem with pull plows in back of truck is they are only good with very little snow (less than 6"). after that it bunches up behind truck. I had one when they first came out and I stopped using it. you also lose traction

not from my angle. does fine. if you found a problem with it at 6 inches, then use it a 5 inches. or you can do like we do and take a little less at a time. you dont have to go all in. But i do..
